Well, it is not one of the largest. This one only weighs 500 tons. The galleons for the Atlantic crossing ranged between 500 and 1,000 tons of displacement, while the Manila Galleons, used in the Pacific, could have a displacement of 2,000 tons.

Very historic town, Captain Cook born nearby, and the ship that found Australia 🇦🇺 in his day, was a very similar ship from Whitby coal carriers ❤❤ 😊

Thank you for uploading this. I was visiting Whitby just last week and went to the museum dedicated to James Cook. I imagine that a Spanish vessel would have received a rather different welcome back in 1588.

I remember another beautiful ship the Barque Marques coming into Whitby in August 1980 . Sadly it sank in the Tall Ships race in 1984 .

Looks dull, like the Black Pearl. If she were to fly her colours, Huge Spanish flag from the stern it may have brightened her up slightly. Can't imagine the Spanish going in for drab matt black Galleons. Nice replica all the same.

as far as the Armada (not Amanda) concerns, the Word "bloody" depends on what side you look at it from (from my side is, with no doubt, glorious, great and Happy Armada)
