this is among the underrated mega project call Gurney Wharf and totally changes the old Esplanade or Gurney Drive.Now the large scale reclamation works still on going.Once it completed the Gurney Wharf can be the newest green landmark witch provided public facilities,shops,houses,hotel and modern seascape.hopefully it cannot be "gajah putih" project.

Unfair for people who bought their house in tanjung tokong where the selling point when they bought the house is to have the blue green sea view. Now because of this project, their view is blocked.

They should make this a complete recreational park with complete greeneries, like the STANLEY PARK of Vancouver, BC CANADA. Lots of tourists will come visiting PENANG. It is like a treasure.... the Goose that laid the Golden Eggs..Another great attraction for the tourism industry with lots of spills over effects..... Pls no more pigeon holes apartments....

This is a 264 acres of the reclaimed island and I think it's a bit too big for recreational park... 😄

Haiiiii.....kenaikan air laut akan ubah pasil dan selut yang tinggal batu saja pesisar pantai akan hilang .......bukan pantai yang hilang ...tapi selut di bawah hilang dan jadi dalam bawah laut tu bukan situ kan selat...sungai laut .......beli boleh untung boleh rugi 50.50. Pulau selut...bukan bediri di atas batu bukit.....

penang is now a crowded , desolate half baked island known for its condos, seaside squatters, traffic jams and pot holes. Not been there ever since gurney drive gone....memories. Even Fort cornwallis is so unkempt. Msian and penang politics will ensure that the pearl of the orient is completely gone.

Yes, i agree. Seri Tanjung 2 and Gurney wharf. People who bought millions ringgit unit by Tanjung tokong and Gurney drive feel they are cheated, they spent so much money because of the good blue green sea view. After these two projects, there is no longer sea view. Greedy developers.

Austagfirullahalaziim..! Kerja bina yang mengarut..!!! Satu bala kepada negeri ku yang tercinta, Pulau Pinang. Tak payah lah dok tambak laut. Baik buat pembangunan atau buka ladang2 pertanian di sebarang tanah besar. Kami warga Pulau Pinang sekerasnya bangkang tambak2 laut tu. Banyak penyelewengan oleh kerajaan dalam kerjabina seperti ni. Jangan jadi satu cerita penyelewengan yang berlaku seperti dalam kerjabina jembatan bawah laut. Jangan percaya sangat kerajaan yg dikepalai oleh kaum2 pendatang. Dah siap nanti bagi alasan pula pembinaan tak dapat dijual harus membenarkan warga dari negara China masuk pula, seperti cerita Garden City di negeri Johor. Baginda2 YDP Agong serta Raja2 Melayu harus bertindak keatas kerajaan yang merancang pembinaan yang tidak memenfaatkan rakyat, sebab utama, ianya hanya akan menjadikan warga dari negara China masuk berduyun2 bertaburan tanpa kawalan, maka bertambahlah kaum2 kafirun dalam negeri Pulau Pinang. Seharusnya setiap negeri mengutamakan pembinaan ladang tanaman supaya ramai warga tempatan diberi peluang bertani dan menghasilkan bahan2 keperluan makanan dalam negeri masing2, bukannya pembaziran yang hanya menguntungkan politikus2 yang ambil kesempatan mencipta kekayaan dalam kegiatan politik. Seharusnya Pulau Pinang dibawa kebawah naungan Sultan Kedah bukan lagi dibawah naungan TYT. Sedangkan Pulau Pinang asalnya adalah kepunyaan negeri Kedah. Semoga Allah SWT melindungi Bangsa Melayu dari dipinggirkan dalam bumi keturunan asal usul nenek moyang mereka sendiri, iaitu asal usul Nusantara Melayu. Aamiin 🌙 🕌 💕🇲🇾

The last Tsunami happened in 2004 and the height was about 4 meters, however, this reclaimed island was raised the platform level to 5.5m to 6m Chart Datum =)
