Saw them being interviewed once years after they stopped dancing. They said that they were always arguing with the costume designers who were a little bit too ‘safe’. They themselves preferred the more revealing costumes such as the ones in this video. They were aware that they were in great shape and wanted to ‘show themselves off’. My kind of women !!

"Elegant"... oh come on... They're wearing night dresses and sparkly pants, it's not THAT different besides it being in an era of different aesthetic trends. This is the 70's equivalent of whatever you think today's 'fake' is. The only reason women seemed 'classier' then is because there was no internet for them to post videos of themselves twerking for the world to see... You'd still see plenty of women with too much make up on and revealing clothing just as you do today. I mean, they're called Legs & Co for christ sake they knew that sex sells even in the 70s. Let's not keep harking back to this imaginary time when every woman was Audrey Hepburn because it's simply exaggerating through nostalgic goggles.

The seventies were half a century ago now. You seem surprised that time and tastes have moved on. It's what's been happening since the dawn of time. Everyone's era fades into the distant past.
