RE BLUETOOTH... sorry if we didn't make this clearer in the video... your phone can tether to the Micro Mustang Plus via bluetooth - this enables you to stream music from your phone to the Micro Mustang AND it enables you to use the app to control the settings on the Micro Mustang Plus. You CANNOT use bluetooth headphones with Micro Mustang Plus - you must use wired headphones. In this video, when you hear us play along to music, we are streaming that music from the phone to the Micro Mustang Plus. Questions re whether you can use 3rd party bluetooth footswitches & USB loopers will have to wait for another day, as I don't know for sure right now!

My 2nd (enthused) comment on this: As an owner of the ToneMaster Pro, I‘m very pleased to see this tiny unit doing a lot of similar stuff, but I‘m even more delighted to see (or rather, hear) that Fender have apparently not made the mistake they did with the presets on the ToneMaster Pro not having realistic hi-cut filters engaged right from the factory. Instead, the TMP gives you full-range cab sounds in the presets, and you MUST figure out how much hi cut to apply to every single one, else everything is too fizzy. (Similar remark applies for the lows, by the way.) With this new product, they seem to have created the presets with hi-cut applied as one would expect from each paired cabinet. Bravo!

As an owner of the ToneMaster Pro, I think I‘m gonna have to get one of these, too, despite loving my Boss Katana Go for the purpose. But I‘ve grown accustomed to the Fender TMP app, which is beautifully done, and I‘m mostly a „clean“ guy anyhow. By the by: I wish the battery life was closer to 5 hours (like the Katana Go) than 4, making it more suitable for potential live use. Yes - these little buggers can also be used live. Just plug the Mustang into the output of your (battery-operated) tuner on the floor and use an adapter cable from there. You can even go straight from there into your PA speaker, such as an Everse 8 or 12 (battery-powered), and you‘re good to go as long as you don‘t need to change presets or settings in the middle of songs. The Katana Go (currently not available?) is better in that respect, since you can use the Boss wireless footswitch for switching presets.

The MP-3 comes with 7 presets cycle toggle switch which can be annoying when I have to cycle throgh them to find the sound I want to use on spot. Of course the Mustang is kinda collecting dust at this point. I'd probably get the Mustang Micro Plus, replacing the Mustang micro. It'd be better if I can hook up a wireless foot switch like the Katana does I think. Personally I use this kind of devices for practicing songs so bank switching is important to me. If you're just jamming along with backing track, any of those would be fine given that you're only using one sound IMHO.

I've been saying for a while that these headphone amps should really have an effects modify button (I like getting that "whoosh" sound when changing the delay time on my Mustang Micro, and if the app is unavailable for some reason, I still can turn an effect on and off and have a bit of control over it). Nice to see Fender actually added one! I also liked that they included an Orange amp, and it looks far more intuitive than the Katana Go (just looking at the buttons I pretty much know how I'd use the Mustang Micro Plus). The only item on my wish list still missing is having one of Fender's Jubilee models available. I wonder if, with the app and the screen being less limiting the colored lights, they'd be able to add more amps in an update. 🤔

I also have the Katana Go, which can sound spectacular, but you need the app a lot, but multiple mods, delays etc make it a tinkerers delight. And I like the app because it's easy to use with poor eyesight. The Micro Plus? Pretty sure it will sound epic, but that app is going to be a nightmare, like the Positive Grid one, with my poor vision. Will I buy one? Of course, because, er, reasons 😂 Price feels about right, but let's wait until the first firmware update is available.
