I usually get bored when people start tweaking the EQ on an active bass, but HOLE-EEE!! The tonal range on these basses is INSANE! The lack of bottom end on the fanned fret model may be due to the pickups being angled towards the bridge on the bass side, this would produce a thinner but more focused tone on the low strings.... but a warmer fatter sound on the treble strings.

I got a brand new 2021 Ibanez EBH1005SMS-EMM bass a few days ago. It seems to have a manufacturing defect. When the EQ switch is set to ON, attenuating the Treble Boost/Cut control does nothing. It’s as if that circuit is not connected inside the EQ. I’ve been searching through videos on KZbin to see if anyone else is commenting about the Treble Boost/Cut control on their EBH1005SMS bass not working, but so far have not found any documentation or demonstration of the issue. Does your EBH1005SMS bass' Treble Boost/Cut control work correctly?

I have the EHB1505 that Nathan is playing. These basses are almost IMPOSSIBLE to restring with two hands. The locking screws in the non-existent headstock have a difficult time holding the string from slipping back out, making the instrument unplayable. Being the screws and hardware are (probably) made of brass, or similar soft materials... they could possible strip out, if too much tension is applied. For an instrument that is well over $1500 USD, I would expect a little better quality. I've addressed this with an email to Ibanez, and have been completely IGNORED. Would NOT recommend this line of basses, unless the purchaser actually has three hands to change strings.
@greatwhite619674 жыл бұрын
I've been a fan of Nate & Nate's brother Mark, both of Level 42 with Nate joining in 2001, since they first came on the music scene... I've had my eye on the Ibanez EHB1500 in Dragon Eye Burst Flat when they were first shown at the 2020 NAMM Show & I'll be buying one as Ibanez still make great bass or lead & rhythm guitars to those who already have, as I do, the Fenders/Gibsins/Warwicks of the guitar making world & I'll add that to me Sandberg are one of the best bass makers at the moment & have been for quiet a few years but I always like to try different brands & what they bring to the table & I was delighted with my last purchase which was the Ibanez BTB1805-NTL Premium... I've always liked Ibanez as they are not afraid to experiment & give you nice aesthetically pleasing looking instruments also, & I tired of gloss finish on basses when I bought a beautiful Limited Edition Warwick Streamer Stage II from Germany & having that natural feel of the wood appeals to me... No doubt many don't like the flat finish & all the best to them as its each ti their own but I like a flat finish if it's down properly & Ibanez are one of the best for doing a flat finish that can also have a nice poplar burl top to finish the look off... My only reservation about this bass is that it has a chambered body, now this I don't mind, but Ibanez have been making basses that are a lot lighter than your usual bass manufacturers standards of being between 10 to 12lbs & todays Ibanez basses are quite light anyway, so I hope this lighter weight doesn't detract from the overall feel & sound... Going by this demo I'd say as per both basses sound great but it would be nice to have the option of going with Bartolini instead of Norstrand & vice versa & why one brand has Bartolini & the other has Bartolini still puzzles me... I get that they want to have more of a different sound, hence 2 different pick manufacturers, but at least give us the option to choose the particularly finish, with either Norstrand or Bartolini... Just one more thing... It's great that the world is starting to gradually come out of Lockdown because of the coronavirus pandemic & my thoughts & prayers go out to those who have this or to the family/friends who have passed away because of this & one day some serious questions will be asked & they better answer them properly & not respond like typical evasive politicians... I'm hoping that Level 42's 40th Anniversary Tour " From Eternity To Here " is eventually greenlit as it wasnt due to kick off until the first week in October 2020 & it would be great to see all the lads of Level 42 again & though we have to put what's happened behind us, we should never forget & dedicate this Tour to those struggling with/who passed away & to everyone that stepped up & gave it their all with regards battling this killer virus... I have many family members & friends in the front line who are either nurses or paramedics & they have been amazing considering how run down the previous Governments have allowed the NHS to become, so to everyone out there I Thank You & I'm hoping to raise a glass to you all, if the Level 42 Tour is back on... Oh yeah I nearly forgot... I doubt your looking at this Mark King but these bass guitars that cost a fraction of the price that you've paid to Rob Green for your Status wouldve been better used to buy these basses as they sound so much better that any Status range & why you stick by using them, only you can explain!.. That being said I hope to see You/ Nate/Pete/Mike & Sean from Level 42 in October 2020, as I booked my tickets back in December 2019... In light of the coronavirus outbreak stay healthy where ever you are in the world... .....

Ibanez isn't a Japanese name. Ibanez guitars were originally made in Spain - and the Salvador Ibanez guitars have made a comeback as a brand but they're pretty chintzy. I'd rather spend $200 USD on an old Ibanez classical guitar than $150 USD on a new "branded", in fact, I just did. If the surf green 5 came in fretless, I'd already be in debt for it. Anyhow Yeah, early outsourcing so you're actually buying a guitar that's twice an import.
