Please turn off "Stable Volume" in the video playback setting (the first menu item after clicking the gear icon) as for some reason, this new KZbin playback feature made the video much noisier than usual.

I bought a 208 a few weeks back, it does everything I need but I wanted more height (for watch repair screwdrivers etc) so mounted the lens barrel at its bottom and it's good now. Got fed up with the buttons on the front, very difficult to see which one does what until you get used to it but I searched online for a remote and got one from Amazon, makes things much better. Mine came with a battery and it charges automatically when the scope is connected to 5V. BTW, my 208 software is 20220721ZY V3.7H, much higher than the one reviewed.

This seems so good, aside from the USB connection issue. Pretty silly to have a USB connection for power only. Also, note that the specs say the sensor is 1080p, but the display is only 1280x800 -- another really silly design mistake. I'm in the market for something like this, but this model seems slapdash.

It seems this can take filters. Is there any information about the thread/filter size to suit? Also do the filler/goose-neck LEDs have a thread suitable for a screw on filter?

I have the MOYSUWE version (exactly the same, except with a crappy wireless remote which has a bad habit of skipping items in the menus - lots of trial and error to select the right line...). One thing that bugs me is the battery icon at the bottom right of the screen that constantly flashes. Anyone know why? Does it ever stop blinking? Also, anyone know what the third LED on the back (the one right next to the SD card slot) is for? (The first, red, is to indicate when the device is plugged in; the second, blue, is to indicate when the device is turned on.) Thank you!

Does it include the UV filter, like the AD207? I think this also protects the lens from dust/dirt.

On Andonstar's website there's only AD208 no AD208S, so I am not sure.

S model comes with a remote control

@@aguilapty I'm not sure that's right - I think the S version has the two goose-neck LED lamps but the AD208 without the S doesn't have these. Can anyone confirm? Also, there does seem to be a standard Andonstar remote control that I think will work with the 208. I've emailed Andonstar about this but still waiting for a reply. Again, can anyone confirm?

@@zeno2712 Thanks for the reply. I bought the S version and I can confirm it comes with remote control. The other version without the S (208) does not have it and that's the reason I chose the S version. Both version include the goose-neck LED lamps. However, I guess you might be able to buy the remote control in case you do not have the S version. In fact, there are sold as Andonstar accesories. They sell remote, UV filter+dust cover as stand-alone products.

Great review! I have a smaller, older version of this scope, and the buttons on the front are unreadable without extra light. They should have printed the symbols in white :)

This type of microscope does not have stereo lens so there is no depth perception to speak of.
