I still love Mando the most, but even someone who loves Mando cause that's some of my all time favorite Star Wars content ever, Andor is just another level. Its got tight writing, directing, and acting. Its not to say Mando does not have these things, but Andor had them more consistently, imo. The best part of Andor being so good is we now have MORE Star Wars to love, and finally get to see the wider and deeper parts of the possibilities in Star Wars lore that have not yet been explored. We get our action serial Star Wars goodness along with beloved characters in Mando, and Andor fills us all in on the gritty, more ground level, and bleak reality of living under the Empire. I can't wait for season two!

I don't care what anyone says this show was awesome and is easily the best written and acted piece of SW content we have ever gotten and that is coming from someone who loves The Mandalorian and the OG trilogy.

I agree but definitely needs to speed up a little. It’s a 9/10 show but a Star Wars show it’s a 6.5 out of 10. It lacks a lot of “Star Wars things” to put it shortly. I feel like the Star Wars aspect will ramp up in season 2.

@@QuinlanVoss. Lmao you gave me a good chuckle, "between every show that has ever existed it's a 9/10, but in the tiny pool of Star Wars shows and movies it's a 6.5 because there's no Glup Shitto cameo and Blorko reference." Star Wars Theory when no Glup Shitto cameo: 🤬🔫

@@MamadNobari There needs to be a balance. Andor felt less like Star Wars cause it was very different to anything we've had before, and that's good - but I also do think it's important to keep the universe feeling connected. People complain about "Fan Service" or whatever, and I think it's silly - but they do sometimes have points. We don't need to same characters showing up in every Star Wars project, but they absolutely should show up when it makes sense too. Andor is incredible. It's a 10/10 for me. But Star Wars shouldn't change to exclusively Andor's tone. Keep it open for everyone. Give us the quality of Andor in every production, but make sure to change the tone. In that way, we can have The Bad Batch, Ahsoka, The Mandalorian, Andor - all shows that appeal to different people for different reasons, but all accessible for us fans.

@@pumpedupbricks Star Wars is a vast Galaxy to explore various facets of rebellion and Empire. Andor has its place just like space wizards and laser swords has its place. The beauty is that we can now experience real, ground level, painful rebellion, political struggles and family sacrifice, along with Empire bureaucracy in the light it deserves. And the show itself does not need to bend to the expectations of the other side of it we grew up loving, but the wider gamut of shows can tackle the tone in their own way. That's us being lucky enough to experience depth in Star Wars as we get older, but also be able to escape in the fantasy of the Jedi and Sith. The more shows Disney put out with the right quality and attention the better it is for us. They just need to ensure that the tone they choose for each show is executed well. Andor could have been terrible if it wasn't as impressively put together as it was because, but we are fortunate it came out as well as it did. It gives us hope that they can execute the fantastical side of Star Wars with the same care and passion but still keep the tone in line with our childhood memories. We still got some incredible action set pieces here, but even when they showed TIE fighters being piloted on Aldhani it was more depth than we've had before, right in the midst of an action sequence. Fantastic stuff. We saw Luthen's ship doing wildness we saw two officers getting killed in the first scene of the first episode. No holds barred in that regard. Realness.

The acting by Muhannad Bhaier (Wilmon Paak, kid with the pipe bomb) was outstanding. Like you guys said, you could see the anger on his face, but then after the explosion you could see how stunned he was. It read to me as the realization of what he did and how many people he just killed. Rest of the episode he's in total shock and the actor absolutely sold it.

Thank you for voicing your respect for Diego Luna's acting in this series. He wasn't given the great soliloquies, so a lot of people tend to discount his amazing work. His character is the reluctant hero to a T. He just wanted to score big and then live peacefully. Diego portrays Cassian as emotionally subtle, yet powerful. Every single acting choice he made was imbued with truth. The man hit zero false notes. His eyes spoke volumes, he delivered his lines in a perfectly measured manner. Even the way he carried his body was exactly correct for the situation Cassian found himself in. The emotional weight of ANDOR hinged on us believing in Cassian's constant struggle with the arbitrary and pervasive evil of The Empire, with his reluctance with joining up with the Rebels-- people who though fighting the good fight aren't necessarily good; instead, they are desperate and, if it comes down to it, they'll sacrifice/betray their own. We also have to feel the love he has for Maarva and B2-EMO, as well as the family-like bond he shares with Brasso and Bix. All of that hinged on how Diego portrayed ANDOR and he hit it out of the park!

I’ve watched a bunch of different accounts’ reaction videos and the way this show has inspired and emotionally resonated with so many people from different backgrounds fills me with hope that people can be inspired by art like this. Yes, it is an expensive show made by a huge company, but the messages and themes are clear and important and don’t feel like a cash grab to make money off of our childhood memories. Maybe this story can inspire people to make real change in themselves and society. One. Way. Out.

I remember watching rebels, everything that the empire did that involved labor camps and excavation was basically all for death star construction. It's just so cool seeing all the things that were done in secret that you had to connect the pieces yourself to come to the realization that it was all for death star one. Especially since it's basically a mobile moon sized ship that was somehow built in complete secrecy and just kinda shows up in everyone's perspective.

Here is the wonderful thing about Andor, that post credit scene first time I saw it, I was 'Did it need a connection to the Death Star and then I realised later on after thinking about it more, it actually did. It was unlikely that the Empire could hide every single prison no longer letting people go, that wasn't what was happening, it was just the ones being used to build parts for the Death Star that where being kept. A few thousand in a Galaxy could be hidden and the secrecy around the First death Star was such that, even the folks building parts they never understood what for, where not being let out to tell other people, because they didn't want any part of the project leaking and possibly leading others to it. It makes the Prisons make more sense and gives us a better understanding of how secret the whole Death Star project was. (which also explains how the second Death Star took much less time to build while being larger, it was just less secret, they sacrifcied secrecy for speed)

I get Cinta's attitude that the mission takes priority, but she JUST got back from tailing the two of them. If they went inside the building afterward, she's not going to spot anything in the handful of moments between getting back to her place and whatever else needed to be done next. She could've at least spared those moments to say one reassuring thing to Vel, and then gently remind her to get back on task for now. It would've cost her precisely nothing to do so, and would've helped focus Vel on the mission as she should've been. People have to come first...or the revolution dies.

Love how you guys just put it all out there for the reviews. Yep, this is the real deal for us people on the ground. Season 2 can't come soon enough. And yeah, the soundtrack is sublime. Apparently he composed the funeral march first, and everything else rolled from that.

Been looking forward to this reaction - and you didn't disappoint! Completely agree about the quality of this show being fantastic - it's been a slow burn for a reason, letting us sit with characters long enough to understand them, feel for them, before throwing action and heavy consequences into the mix that have us hooked on every scene! Everyone who worked on Andor deserves respect and admiration for what they've brought to the SW fandom, and I'm already bracing myself for S2's impact! Loved hearing your thoughts and feeling your investment - bravo!

I really love this series. Everything on it is a masterpiece. I just feel sorry for Cassian. He died in Rogue One trying to destroy the very weapon he unintentionally helped build.

This show was so rich. It was like sitting in a comfy chair and reading one of the best novels ever written with rich characters all on sides and scales, beautiful dialogue, a complex and intelligent plot and good rising actions and wonderfully detailed tangible worlds and feelings and a strong ending. It has great re-read value, because you can go back and see more each time and appreciate what you might have overlooked the first time. This is my favorite show in a long time.

Loved this series to death. So many great moments, so many great monologues, such great writing, and such great acting. Skaarsgard, Luna, Gough (as much you hate the character, respect the actress), the guy that acts Nemick... my God such an amazing series.

Supposedly, Marvaa actually said "Fu*k the Empire!" but naturally, Disney said nope. Andor is beyond awesome and I have loved your reactions to this incredible show.

It’s not supposed, the actress that played Deedra confirmed in an interview that Maarva said “fuck the empire”, and if you read her lips in the scene, it’s obvious. Disney definitely said “hell no” though.

“Fight the empire” makes more sense for her to say at that moment anyway. Dropping f bombs just to do it is stupid and loses its power.

@@DarthMalaks_Missing_Lower_JawI agree that fight the empire worked better. Right after she said “fight the empire”, the town’s people literally fought the empire; it was a call to arms

They had a recording of her saying "Fu*k the empire playing during shooting to amp-up the actors, but the plan was for her to say 'fight' in the show. It's actually brilliant; they ramp the emotions of the actors, so that way everything 'reads' on camera. It's comparable to when during the Rohirrim charge scene, Peter Jackson hat it that only extras who have read the novel and could recite the scene were on front lines, so that they knew how important of a scene it was.

her saying that is fun, but ngl it would've undercut the style of the dialogue. she's giving a war speech after her eulogy, rather than something someone would say in a protest in 2020. i feel like "fight the empire" is perfect because it's a proper instruction against the empire, telling them to raise arms and fight for their lives, it's poetic and in theme with the show.

I will go as far as to say this is the best written sci-fi show in the past 10 years or so, even more. Such good writing, acting and filming it's embarrassing!

Honestly, I've seen 20+ reactions to this episode and yours is the best because you totally get why this episode is so great. This isn't "Oh hey they did this and that and I like that". No (as Marva would say). It is about the tension of being alive in an uncertain and quite dangerous situation with people you love on the line, with ideas and galaxies in the balance, risking everything. As you said, if this shit doesn't pump you up you are not alive.
