Hiyas Simon, A wonderful museum to be sure! I would love to visit that area, fascinating and historic . The machines and fixtures they used were a real treat to see. I was reminded of the fact that worker safety was an afterthought, if thought of at all, as there was absolutely no guarding over the exposed gears or drive belts. You did what you had to do to get by, survival. I loved the fact that the manufacturing was literally so hands on; the product you purchased was made and packaged by a human and NOT solely by a machine. Thanks for taking us along Simon! We really appreciate the hard work you put into these fascinating videos and the fact that you share them with those of us who don't live where you do and would never otherwise see what you've shown us. Take Care my friend.

Thank you very much Lester. It was truly a great experience, I was not expecting the whole story to be told in such a way. But I agree that the part about the secrecy of the flavoring alchemy was priceless.!!

Thanks Sandro, it is indeed well worth a visit! I was not expecting it to be so good, rather I was expecting some machinery in an old room but was rewarded by the wonderful story of the whole local industry!

Wonderful video Simon…an excellent museum tour and so much information imparted. Loved the shelf of “secret” flavours and the level of deception to boost sales ie Cuban on the cigar labels. Real worth 7 euros indeed . Bravo my friend…thanks for bringing it to us.

What a fascinating place Simon, right up my street. Fascinating to see how the industry operated in Andorra, seemingly behind the main tobacco producers due to the need to smuggle most of it over the borders! Quite rustic cigars they were making too! Liked the Fanny liqueur at the end 😂 Great video Simon, and another reason to cross over into Andorra when I can 😊👍🏻

I thought you would enjoy this one!! I did try to see if I could get some local tobacco but to no avail. I think these days it gets grown for government grants rather than resale. I need to go with a Spanish speaker as they were harvesting in the fields and it would be interesting to interview the present day farmers!

That’s really cool. Thanks for that - it’s like I got to go myself! Like you, I also use raw leaf to make blends, so even helpful. I’ve just started also making snuff too. Not quite at the level of Wilsons of Sharrow, but I made a Viking Thor’s hammer match that’s pretty good.

I haven't explored snuff, but I imagine it has its 'thing'. The museum was A1! Good luck with your endeavors!

What an incredible experience! Andorra is so interesting, hopefully someday I can visit. At the end of the last video they mentioned photography equipment, do you know the story behind that? Were they known for selling film and cameras back in the day and do they still?
@ariegepipesmoker8973 жыл бұрын
there are still many electronic shops that sell cameras etc I am unsure as to the pedigree of this trade! Although it is not really any cheaper unless you are buying very high end stuff.
