Why people were so much enjoying it: first it was sung in general Dutch. He sang that alrhough his birth was in Rotterdam and he now lives in Amsterdam, Maastricht is the best city ever. Then he made everybody stop and sang the rest of the song in the dialect of Maastricht, the city were they all were at that moment. And lot of people sang with him in dialect. For which Andre van Duin, the famous Dutch performer and singer, needed the tekst on paper, since he does not speak the dialect at all, athough he tried a few words and was correcte by Andre Rieu
