A case for vocal and instrumental excellence. "The Promise" is treated with such delicate and almost haunting melodies from the string parts. They always bring the warmth of the music and its reassuring message "I'll be with You always". The brass is laid back but I guess for obvious intentions. And O my, the band. They play with such sensitivity that show true musicianship. Whoever chose the singers really worked on texture and understands the music of Andrae Crouch. The voices are so well layered they sound the same. The blend, flawless (To my ears). Ministry and artistry in perfect unison. Finally, the Spirit carrying the music flows graciously from the Father above. The One Audience Andrae truly sought to play for. Someday we'll all dance around the throne of God and sing His praise together. The Lord is with you no matter what you're going thru. Sleep Well Andrae.

I still remember the time when I translated side-by-side for him in Japan. When he started preaching, he was so fired up and filled with the Spirit, I couldn't keep up with him...well, I was left behind :) His testimony of how he started singing for God was so amazing and his story about his mother was so moving that people in the same room was so blessed!! I'll cherish the precious time I had with him for the rest of my life!!!

Being a piano player I've grown up with this man. He originally loved Tramaine Hawkins but she chose Walter Hawkins either way she couldn't loose. When you really love someone you let them go with their heart. The way piano was played in the black church was horrific in the old days. Andrae Crouch changed that with some of the most beautiful Christian music ever. Andrae is a musical prodache. His father had him go to the piano as a little boy and he just began to play with the gifted hands God gave him. I know I'm blessed because of him, that is hearing music the way its suppose to be played. I'm 65 now and he's had my mind connected to music all my life along with Walter Hawkins and Stevie Wonder. R.I.P my friends with exception of Stevie who still has music to give.

I am almost at "double nickels" in my life's journey and I grew up listening to Andrae Crouch and the Disciples and went to 2 concerts back in the day and had the most spirit-filled times! When I saw The Journey at the store, I had to purchase it! I bought all the albums and played the grooves off the records. I bought the book Through it All and bought nearly everything by AC&D.
