Andrae' Crouch describes writing his 1st song

Last month I spent a couple of days with my old friend, gospel singer & songwriter, Andrae Crouch. While he was sitting at the keyboard, I got him to sing and tell me the story of the first song he ever wrote when he was 14 years old.

How can you not LOVE this man of GOD!! My dad became a CHRISTIAN in 1974 Andrea was the FIRST gospel album my father bought. My brother is named after him. My brother named BOTH of his sons the same name. My Tribute is our FAMILY song. Andrae's music is the soundtrack of my youth. He also was my first concert at the age of 5. This is just one testimony of how he touched so many lives. Love you Pastor Andrae! ❤️ See you in Heaven!

Grace upon pastor, (72 yrs), Andrae Crouch - family and church, losing their leader, faithful humble servant on Jan 8, 2015, He wanted to stay and fight the good fight, even in his weaken body, from illness, and finally the recent heart attack was too much,. my heart goes out to his twin sister Sandra. more GRACE....The Lord gave him 6 more months to share his gifts, grateful, but sad *:-(

Pastor Andrae was a true follower of 'Jesus of Nazareth'. His music continues to inspire me to play 55 years later. Pastor Andrae no longer has any limits of any kind upon him.

I use to attend Pastor Andrae Crouch church many years ago and he is the best storyteller by far! I was literally on the edge of my seat. God has used his life in the most profound way. So gifted! He would just make up a praise and worship song on the spot. This man took music very seriously and when the choir sung you got a visitation from the Lord! Bless God! He will always have a place in my heart!

I met Andrae when his sister needed a ride to the concern hall in Rochester, New York in Rochester, New York and I volunteer to pick her up. Got to the the Auditorium and what a concert a last minute arrangement on hos tour. Andrae a pioneer in contemporary music and stills has the ole time gospel sound as well. Lord touch your servant and give him strength to proclaim Your Name. Yes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This man. Wow. One of very first influences in gospel music. He knew my dad, Jerry Jordan, and I had the awesome honor to play with him at a San Joaquin valley church in California back in 2007. Them he signed my cd of his "ill see you some where". He is a pillar in gospel music for sure. He also helped introduce the world to great writers such as the late Bishop Walter Hawkins. It was an honor to have played with and met this awesome giant of gospel. May God continue to use him.

I had also first known of Andrae Crouch when I was very young, at age 10, in the early 1970's. My parents took me to one of his concerts in Fresno, CA. Andrae is my all time favorite gospel singer. God gave him so many helpful and rich messages to share with so many many people. God gave me a good foundation with the help of Andrae. His music still ministers to me today, and to my family too. God bless you Andrae. I am praying for you Andrae Crouch.

I don't know where I've been so so long that until this year 2015 that I heard about Andre Crouch, just because of KZbin I had time to view christian programs. Been in Europe all this time 40 years and thank God I found this great artist, but unfortunately I will never see him in person, but I am so glad that there is so much material he left for us to enjoy. God bless his twin sister, I am going to make it my business to meet her, God bless the ministry of the Crouch family.

I heard and learnt and sang most of Andre Crouch hymns through church crusades choirs in Trinidad & Tobago. West Indies. Billy Graham Or Oral Roberts amalgamation In the Queens Park Savannah. 50 years after I am appreciating the compositions of this man Andre Crouch universally contributed to my walked to the front to accept the Jesus the Christ In a stadium where Horse racing were frequently raced. Rich Trinidadians won big money. Geneva Neale sang with gusto all his hymns.

Andrae's music has blessed my life since I was 13 in 1973. That's when I'd first heard of him and the group, the Disciples through the song, "I Don't Know Why Jesus Loved Me." My first AC record I ever purchased was "This Is Another Day," after which I backtracked and bought the earlier releases. I have every Andrae record that I know of on CD now; his music is timeless, with so much of being "Sunday morning ready!" :-) God bless him and Sandra always.

Thanks Boyd. My wife worked with Teen Challenge in the late 60's when Andre would come over from his dad's church and sing. His ministry has been a true odyssey showing God's faithfulness. Thanks for your work

This shows to me that God doles out talent to whomever he wishes. I wish I could write a song like The Blood, but God didn't give me that talent. I don't know what I am, maybe a loser, but Andrae was a real winner.

FYI - he's been ill with heart ailments, cancer and diabetes in the past 10 years. Considering his health issues, he plays VERY well. Medications for all the above may have affected his nervous system. I have a late relative who lost his ability to speak and walk after chemo'.
