I was in the concert: Andras Schiff is - at least for me - the master of nuance and fine tunes. The prime pianist of my days.

What a treat! What a musician. Have been watching and listening to him for the past few hours: Beethoven, JS Bach, Mozart and now Haydn. Marvellous. Thank you, András Schiff, orchestras, concert halls and KZbin!!! For me, Schiff is THE greatest - certainly since 1988. 💕💕

A lovely surprise, thank you. The right music in the right place, the Esterhazy Palace, with the right chamber orchestra and the perfect soloist. Delightful.

Al parecer el propio Haydn reutilizaba ese tema en otras obras: kzbin.info/www/bejne/jqHYfHymZq2Cjqc

The reason for Schiff's quote may be the popular words associated with the tune: Papa Haydn's dead and gone but his memory lingers on. When his mood was one of bliss he wrote jolly tunes like this.

I don’t know why but sometimes when listening to Hayden’s music can recognize “Mozartian patterns “ 😊
