Can we take a second to appreciate how smart Iggy was/is. In the 2012-13 season he looked at the Warriors, a franchise that had only made the playoffs once in 18 years, a team with a bunch of young unproven talent led by a skinny kid with bad ankles, and saw something special happening. Dudes a genius.

That's playing for percentages not stats Andre probably was an All Stars because his percentages are Hall of Fame worthy in 3rd and 4Qtr moments across the board. In the game of basketball most people are taught to care about stats Andre was a percentages guy but I think he only subconsciously knows that. in efficiency killers Andre can make Top6 all time in all categories he's a destroyer everyone sleeps on who had health conflicts.

Side note: In my opinion, some of Iverson’s more efficient and best seasons came after they got Iguodala. He also averaged more assists in those years than in the earlier 2000’s. When I looked up some NBA Action Top 10 plays of the week from 2005 and 2006, I saw a fair amount of AI to AI plays.

A good team/organisation isn't all eye candy/charisma. You need those that do the hard yards and set things in place for the ones with the spotlight to shine. Someone who doesn't flex their ego and would rather be the one filling in the gaps. Not all contributions are as obvious. Props to him.

I would abuse kids with him in nba 2k11 playing as the underrated bobcats! Gerald Wallace , Stephen Jackson Shaun Livingston Dj Augustine tyrus Thomas . All under rated glitches in that game if you really knew how to play! The Sixers had a low key squad in Iggy's last year. (2011-12) Jrue Holiday, Lou Williams, Elton Brand, Thaddeus Young, and Nikola Vucevic. Lou Williams lead them in PPG at 14.9 and Elton Brand was 5th at 11.0. Everyone in their rotation had a positive defensive rating and they were 3rd overall. They were 5th in SRS. They beat the Bulls after Derrick Rose went down (Still a good ass team) and pushed Boston to a game 7. The Celtics then lost in 7 games to Miami. Brand was a little too old and everyone else besides Iggy was a little too young but that was a talented team.

Came up with a FMVP, stole the ball from Westbrook to take the lead, scored 20 points in game 5 against the cavs, was playing amazing in the 2018 playoffs before injury, 2019 finals came up with a huge 3 in game 2 and scored 22 in game 6. Iguodala was one of those guys you wanted on your team. I remember when he played for the nuggets, a year prior when he first played for the warriors. I was talking basketball with a buddy about a dream scenario team for certain players. And after some thought, Iggy to GSW sounded like the perfect fit. And even my buddy didn't buy it. But I just thought it would be awesome if he came off the bench and did him. You gotta give credit to Philly too. They drafted real well after AIs departure. First Lou Williams and Iggy, then Thaddeus Young, and then Holiday. You're talking about a team of glue guy, team first hard working players in every position. In retrospect I'd kinda like to see Philly max their potential with what they had.

Iguodala earning a starting role right away in his rookie year was kind of a surprising and funny story. The Sixers had Glenn "Big Dog" Robinson at SF who was one of the better mid-range scorers of his generation, and who had only just turned 32 and was coming off of a year where he still averaged a very respectable 16.6 ppg as the second fiddle to Allen Iverson. With his defensive hustle, Andre just absolutely manhandled and eviscerated Glenn in training camp to the point that they were forced to demote the Big Dog despite his pedigree (no pun intended) as an all-star level player. Supposedly, the veteran Glenn took the demotion so badly he feigned injury until a trade happened, then he was waived and managed to successfully ring-chase with the Spurs, sleepwalking into a ring and then retiring at a fairly early age.

People forget Iggy was a flashy high flyer in his early days with the 76ers, he became a very effective 3 and D player for the Warriors and completely revamped his overall game.

He was always on my NBA Live team. I was moneyballing before it was a thing, and Andre was perfectly dominant, I never understood why he was so underrated, especially when his supporting role was obvious even in simulators.

Going to comment before I watch haven't viewed sb In awhile, super under rated. 2k demi god. Only thing against him is wish he would have been bigger. This guy at 6'9 would have been scary

Iguodala was my favorite dunker behind Vince carter back in the day and one of the most underrated players in history, but he had a revamp in his career once he reached the warriors,he reached his full potential as a balanced player

You should do a Shaun livingston video! Truly a underrated Gem who would have been one of the best had it not been for injuries . He was a more skilled Ben Simmons type. Didn’t shoot that well , but serviceable if needed. Having that type of length playing PG is a real rarity . I would abuse kids with him in nba 2k11 playing as the underrated bobcats! Gerald Wallace , Stephen Jackson Shaun Livingston Dj Augustine tyrus Thomas . All under rated glitches in that game if you really knew how to play! All the scrubs would pick the Lakers, heat, Spurs maybe Boston.. and they would get stomped out by the horribly rated Charlotte bobcats haha . Them and the hawks were my squad! Maybe a little Carmelo with the Denver nuggets . Great times man

Always been a fan of his, I've always liked role players more than stars, especially role players that get elevated to the all star game or mvp conversation. My all time fav is Joakim Noah.

Anyone who hasn't, please go watch the atrocity of how he gets robbed at the dunk contest with AI on the behind the backboard dunk. Nate Robinson takes 30 shots lmao. As a Philly fan, love iggy & still do. I knew our harsher fans would drive him out of town. Total class act regardless.

5:00 Yep! Pain for every Raptors fan right there… Although the Raptors already had Vince Carter and Jalen Rose at the time for SG and SF therefore center was the position of need

Feel free to correct me on the timeline, but did the Raptors know Vince Carter was itching to get out at the time of the draft? I remember he was pretty miserable and particularly mad about the Dr. J snub. Keeping in mind that Rob Babcock was bad at his job, it seems like if you know Carter wanting a trade is possible, the logical thing would be to draft Iguodala as insurance and either get a promising center for a rebuild around Bosh or trade Iguodala afterwards for a more established guy.
