Andre Rieu introduces Mirusia Louwerse - 'Solveig's Song'

Recorded live in Efteling, Holland 2007.
Here, Mirusia performs Solveig's Song (Grieg) with Rieu & the JSO.
This young Australian soprano, Mirusia Louwerse, 2006 winner of the Dame Joan Sutherland Award at the age of nineteen, was contracted to tour with Andre Rieu in 2007 and will be in Australia to tour with Rieu & JSO later this year 2008.

Over many years has become clear to me that we (fortunately) all have very different tastes. If truth I cannot tell you what I mean, it is that ephemeral something that “grabs” one and holds the attention. To me she is very talented and I feel she will improve with time. I may well be wrong. I have tried thousands of times to quantify what it is about Sumi Jo’s voice that transfixed me at my first hearing and still holds me over 20 years later. I lack the perception to isolate or define it.
