My younger sister and her husband treated me and my girlfriend to an Andre Rieu concert in Tacoma a few years ago. Not normally the type of music any of us would listen to, but we were *SO* entertained. He is quite the showman, musician & storyteller, and he has gathered some of the best, most talented musicians from around the world. No matter what your preferred genre of music is, I would highly recommend attending one of his concerts. It’s an experience you won’t forget.

Yakety Sax was recorded on my uncle, Fred Foster, Monument label. I had the pleasure of getting to know Boots Randolph who was a tremendous musician and one of the finest people I ever met. I asked him where he learned to play like that. His response “I never had a music lesson, I just talk into it”. He is gone now and missed by millions who knew him and listened to his music.

A year is quite a long time to adapt. it's not in my interest to criticize Sanne or Andre, I just pointed out the fact, and there are a lot of great singers, musicians who often have to adapt to the terms of the contracts and have to act on playback. Maybe this is the real cause. I don't know Sanne or I haven't heard her play, but I can't imitate her at all :). I'm glad we could talk, exchange opinions, but most importantly, are the people who are excited and definitely have a lot of wonderful memories from the concert, and that's always the most important thing. This is an incredibly difficult piece of music to play, it takes lots and lots of practice to get it right, and even pros struggle with it!. I'm used to the original on the tenor sax by the composer/artist Boots Randolph, so it was really fascinating to hear it on the alto by this young lady, Sanne Mestrom, who even changed it up a little and added her own flair to it. BTW, she also plays soprano sax AND the bassoon!
