Correction, Dasheen and Malanga are different. Taste is quite different, much softer consistency. Although in the same family. Dasheen leaves have purplish veins, Malanga doesn't. Dasheen leaves are used for callaloo in some islands. Different from Jamaican callaloo. Beautiful food jungle. Informative video.

when you cincture a tree like you do when air layering it disrupts the flow or hormones and put them into fruiting mode because the tree thinks it may die. just cincturing by itself is often (but not that often) to cause a younger tree to flower, to produce more fruit and also to dwarf the tree.

That was a fantastic tour of your food forest. The plants are looking great and it is August! Love it! Please keep us updated how the sour sop and breadfruit do. We have 2 sour sop trees we are babying...I am hoping to try a breadfruit soon. We are in Central Florida near the beach. Thanks for sharing. 🌼🌸🌷🌴

It is so good to see other people that love there food forest as much as I do mine. But you might have a problem with that jamaican cherry, tamarind, and mulberry so close, because they are big tree even if you prune. I know that problem well. 😆😆😆
@andrebaptiste
@andrebaptiste 2 жыл бұрын
Yeah. They were early additions. The mulberry is irrelevant I can hack that down as needed. But having those trees mature is a problem I’m ok with having 👍🏾

I am so interested in your grafted mangos (not the rootstock grafts but on the stems). I will really only have room for one (maybe two) in my yard, and I had decided that this would be my solution for having a wide variety of mangos. My husband and I love them. I was also planning on doing this to a citrus tree, dragon fruit cactus, and an avocado tree (well, really any plant that would accept a graft well). I'll have to see if you have a specific video on those, but if not, I would love to know more about how successful those are. I am also in the Orlando area, and we are moving to a yard near water, so the similarities in conditions have me intrigued! Thanks for sharing.

Thank you for the wonderful Tuor, at your garden. It's my dream to have lots of fruit in my garden, but I live in a cold place. I'm planning to have a greenhouse just to grow all those tropical fruits. My question is when is a good time to air layering? I tried to air layering my cheery and apricot tree but noting coming up.

Do you have any videos talking about medicinal herbs in north Florida that can be foraged? I would love to learn more but it’s hard to find specific information to North Florida. Most videos are generalized and North Florida seems to have a specific biodiversity.

Lmao in my mind, I was like who in their right mind would plant a tommy arkin with all the choices out there and then you explained yourself. " Well you're excused compared to the mango I just picked this morning off the ground from the neighbor's house here at work with 2 trees in front of their house. (Seedling manila mango) 😂 an egg was bigger than the ripe fruit on the ground. I secretly want to graft their tree but don't want to get arrested ( suspicious blk man with dreads standing outside their house with sharp objects lmao)
