All gluing points are primed... I don't think this improves the strength of the subsequent gluing. Many details could be glued together initially, this did not interfere with the painting.

It’s good to score the metal on bigger parts when sticking together ( cross thatching xx)…also you should wear a mask when sanding metal and wash hands …better still rub down outside …health and safety first !!…the metal contains lead 👀🤮👍
