Andrea Valeri - "Sultans of Swing" live from G7th HQ

Andrea Valeri stopped by G7th HQ a few weeks back and was kind enough to record some videos with us. This is one of his party pieces, one of the greatest tunes of all time - 'Sultans of Swing' by Dire Straits!
With over 3 million hits on the original KZbin video, Andrea says: “I like it so much! I’m a big Mark Knopfler fan; whatever he plays, he plays it great! I remember playing Sultans when I was a child but then I arranged it in this Fingerstyle way, focusing on the right-hand movements and trying to build the band up with just a couple of hands and the guitar!”

Almost exactly a year ago, I mentioned my son, an accomplished though young, now 20, fingerstyle guitarist was working on this amazing interpretation of Dire Strait's Sultans of Swing. He's been playing it live for the last 6 months or so, gradually tightening it up and now we have just released a video. Andrea saw it and commented, thank you so much Andrea! Anyway a year ago I said I would post when done so here it is. Nobody is in Andrea's class, but it is a solid piece of work and it gets huge attention and applause when he performs. We're glad you like it! You're not wrong about the sound 🤣 It was filmed quite a while ago, and we've since got some MUCH better gear for in-house recordings. Hopefully we'll do some more of them in the coming months now more artists are getting back to touring!

G7th The Capo Company I recently bought The Performance 2 (Steel string 18k gold-plate) off of Amazon for €28.87. On your site it's €49.95. Is there a reason for such a huge price difference?

We sell at full retail price from G7th.com, so you can almost always find them cheaper in a store. We'd much prefer you bought them from a store too, and it's good to support music stores at the moment - far too many are going out of business!!
