MaVida I think it’s impossible to impute emotion to the riffs only, because you already know the whole songs with words. Try to think of other instrumental songs that have become great hits; hardly any. Zep and Page are my ultimate favorites, so I’m not knocking them, but as great as the songs are without vocals, they don’t express any specific meaning. Think of Kashmir or Rain Song or Stairway without words...nice but lacking a huge part of what makes the songs great.

Page’s all round mastery of sound, texture, light and shade coupled with his ability to get exactly what he wanted out of what we would now call antique mixing desks makes him (in my view )one of the greatest composers of all time. To everyone complaining about "stealing riffs". Every rock n roll band stole from blues. The only problem was Zeppelin didn't always give credit. Jimmy Page's musical genius is undeniable. His character as a person, well that's different. History is filled with plagiarism. Mark Zuckerberg stole the idea for facebook, Thomas Edison stole nearly everyone of his inventions, you'd be surprised how many things aren't original creations.

What a great job, thanks! Loved the way they were distributed. From the moment I heard those opening chords in "Good Times Bad Times" I was a huge Jimmy fan. I was 17 when I picked that album up and lucky for me, LZ and Jethro Tull were both on their first American tours and playing together at the Kinetic Playground in Chicago shortly after, a short EL Train ride away from me. $5. Or was it 6$? We "had" to sit on the floor, about 10 rows from the stage. Yes, it was memorable, even now at 72. Picked up that first Tull album (still my favorite of theirs) the next day. The thing I really appreciated about Page's playing was not his "speed" but the many uniquely interesting things he came up with melodically. And of course, his sound was stellar. Lucky to have grown up with that.
