I want to add the 0 mana interaction to my modern deck for the reasons you mentioned in the intro. But FoN is still so pricey in paper! Maybe someday. I did just pick up a couple Vexing Bauble for the sideboard though, to hopefully punish others for running 0 mana interaction/evoke/etc 😏

I refuse to call my monkey a card of the past! Just kidding. It surely went down in playability by a lot. Currently I am running 3 Monkey/3 Tamiyo but thinking about going down to 2 Ragavans. I find myself siding them out most of the time, but stealing a game 1 by dashing into the opponent is a fealing close to a Tamiyo ultimate. 4 Tamiyo sometimes feel clunky because of it beeing a legend though (which is not a problem for Ragster, because it almost always dies immediately :D), so for now i wanna stay on 3.

@@piquanta7no, but not because it’s not in the graveyard (it still is in the graveyard) but because it’s not a CARD (it’s a token). Escape requires you to exile CARDS to pay for its cost so even though it’s in the graveyard it doesn’t count as something you can use to pay for escape. Same with delve.

@@piquanta7 given the timings on casting, I imagine there is never a way to have a treasure count for delirium. If you sac the treasure before you cast anything, state based actions removes it before you can cast the card with delirium. If you intend to use the treasure to pay for the spell or ability with delirium, you would first have to lock in the cost before saccing the treasure to pay for the cost, so the spell/ability will never see the treasure in the graveyard. I guess I could see an ability that sacrifices an artifact as part of the resolution of the spell and it also having delirium, but I’m not sure there are any cards like that, and the delirium effect would have to be an additional effect, as sometimes delirium effects are replacements effects. At that point, you would just need to actually see what the card says to determine if the treasure would count.

Hi, just learning about modern from your video series. Why do you choose to bolt tamiyo during opponent’s upkeep after they untap? Is it do you force them to spend mana on their turn rather than in your end step?

Mengu's force of negation in hand can be cast for free on his opponent's turn, so he wants to cast the bolt on his opponents turn so he can force of negation any response they may make.

@@AndreaMengucci i just feel like it is so many times a counterspell that's harder to avoid and more unexpectable. a possible stone rain in a 3/2 body at instant speed, a way to deal with artifacts, cavern of souls. it's just such a flexible resource that it is hard to not seeing it being good xp but i admit i'm not very familiar with modern xp i only watch your videos xD never played it myself xp

Ledger Shredder is a different card. It flies, loots, and gets bigger. Tamiyo draws a card and can flip to a planeswalker. Being a wizard is also very relevant. Shredder can be a budget option for a Izzet Murktide temp build

Your hatred for Amped Raptor is really confusing --- It's a two mana two for one that is also mana advantage--- there's no type of resource that isn't efficient in. Just about the only disadvantage it has is that it wants you to fill your deck with cheap spells ---- something that competitive MTG decks already want to do.

its a high variance card and the upside is not crazy, your reasonable best case is a bonus 2/1 first strike. Any higher upside comes with the downside risk of whiffing. flipping removal on an empty board sucks, not flipping removal when you need it also sucks. the power really hinges on how valuable the extra energy is worth when you whiff running it out early, and I'm not sold its worth enough.
