It absolutely was a pivotal moment of your interaction in Walmart with Solly, Tom (at least in my humble opinion), such a great opportunity for you to share a sweet memory of his Mom, and it meant a lot to Solly, that seemed clear. I think that you do a great job of bringing up Andrea for them to talk about their Mom, and for those memories to be happy moments, which takes some time to have passed to be able to do this. I know that it's far from easy and no one would have chosen this path, but I can clearly see how you and your children are doing better. I want to commend you, Tom. Something that has always been evident is the enjoyment that you and Andrea have had being around your children and spending time with them. That continues to be so now that you are raising your children without Andrea. It truly brings me joy to watch all of you together! Being a Christian myself, I enjoy watching you raising your children to know, love, and serve God. I think that you have done a truly great job of walking with your children on this path of grief, of sharing your own feelings and encouraging them to express their feelings and to balance how much you share of your feelings so as not to overwhelm them, yet to share yours to encourage them to see that you are continuing to progress on this path. I am glad that you have a friend, a relationship, it's YOUR business and you are the one to decide when you and your children are ready. Everyone will have an opinion, and many sincerely want you and your children to be happy. But ultimately, you will continue to make wise decisions with God's guidance and leading. It makes me happy to know that you have someone in your life now. My apologies for this long comment, I don't comment often, but I am making up for it now! 😊

@@TheMillsFamilyVlog, it’s a comfort to know that even though we cannot understand why such catastrophic events like Andrea’s illness and going to heaven so early don’t make any sense to us, that God, who loves us so much IS in control, He does have a plan, and someday we KNOW that we will understand. In the meantime, we need to continue to put one foot ahead of the other (you and your family are doing this well!) in faith, trusting in the One who created us, knowing that He loves Andrea and all of you even more than you love her (which I am sure doesn’t feel possible!). She already knows and understands…. She accomplished SO MUCH in her life! The verse for today on You Version (I subscribe to 2 of these) is 1John 4:18. I looked at several versions, and certainly I know the KJV the most as we used this at home and at church while growing up, but I appreciate what I learn from other versions and translations. This is from the NLT-Such love has no fear, because perfect love expels all fear. If we are afraid, it is for fear of punishment, and this shows that we have not fully experienced his love. This verse really spoke to me and has taught me an important lesson today and I am grateful. I have not gone through what you and your family have, but I was disabled in a car accident (while stopped at a red light), which ended my career as a university professor in classical music performance and left me in a lot of pain. I have learned that many people are all too eager to judge and to tell you how it should be done. But you and God will always make the best decisions, whether or not others ever understand. Yesterday’s verse was very helpful to me, there is so much uncertainty today and this verse comforts me-Zechariah 14:9 (NLT) And the Lord will be king over all the earth. On that day there will be one Lord-his name alone will be worshipped. I hope that these verses bring you comfort, Mills family. Please know that by sharing your lives, that beyond enjoying getting to know your family, which in my experience has been a great experience which I am thankful to relax and watch all of you, I believe that we are learning from your experiences, and I value and appreciate this, and I thank you for continuing to keep this channel going. You have talked about how live sessions have helped you, and I am so glad that we as a community can be of support, which I believe is important. But know that we are learning from all of you too. From your live sessions, to your shopping to other videos and your Bible studies, we are learning and growing. Personally, if I want to relax, perhaps to distract myself from pain, I often choose to watch one of your videos, from the older ones with Andrea there (how I appreciate her wisdom, as well as her ability to simply enjoy her children-as you both do so well. Watching her is a true treat!!!), or newer videos, I can concentrate on watching the Mills Family and my pain isn’t as present, what a treat and I am grateful. Sending blessings and best wishes to you all, Joanne

“Do you guys like cream soda? I don’t think so. One of you does but not enough of you” that absolutely got me 😂 my dad was a single dad to three of us, only one of us (me) with health issues, and he had the hardest time keeping up with certain aspects as it developed. Luckily I was old enough to keep track myself by then and I’d remind him. So much of this brought back some really good childhood memories.

Have you thought of buying one large size item, than buying two smaller ones, usually the larger size is cheaper ? Noticed you got four regular size American cheese, they had the double packs beside it,and the Jiffy peanut butter, usually the large ones is a lot cheaper and on sale a lot of the times.
@TheMillsFamilyVlog
@TheMillsFamilyVlog 3 жыл бұрын
Sometimes I do that. In the case of the peanut butter they don’t fit in the cupboard very good. With the cheese, I like to open them one at a time until they are gone, I feel like they stay fresher than the other way, but it probably doesn’t matter!

Great idea! I was surprised at how bare the shelves were. We have free curbside pick-up at an awesome store called HEB here in Houston and 95% of the time they have everything on our list. They also have their own brand for extra savings and we can clip coupons online for weekly specials. It is a super-duper time saver, not that we really need one because we are retired. We just got used to using it when everything was on lockdown. I think you had a great team of very helpful boys that made the trip very fun.

Might’ve been high costs this time, but still, if you even went to a $1000, that’s only $250 a week, not bad. Even with your weekly purchase at your local grocery, if you averaged $100.00 a week, that’s around $350 a week total, to feed a family of 10, plus necessities. Most families would have to have both parents working to do that, one parent to take care of food and household necessities, and other parent to take care of utilities and mortgage or car payments/insurance. You’re doing pretty darn good.
