Why didn't we get here sooner? (Ep.10 Van Life Spain 2022)

For any aspiring kite surfer the name Tarifa is synonymous with year round sun and wind. For some reason the mere mention of the name 'Tarifa' also conjures up the image of a far away, exotic destination. We had to go see it for ourselves.

One of our favourite beach walks barefoot was in Tarifa about 10 years ago. Yes, the weather can get a little wild, but I like watching a rough sea or ocean sometimes. Glad you managed to get out onto the water eventually.

Tarifa's beaches just stretch almost endlessly. It is such a pretty coast. We plan to take the ferry from Algeciras and hopefully when we return, we'll go try our luck for some wind there again. ❤😎

Well I'm becoming more and more convinced that winter is the time to do Spain

It's definitely one of the best places to be in Europe come the winter months, but you need to be quite far south. Best time for Spain is probably shoulder seasons though - good weather but less people!

@@WeWillNomad I don't think I'd do those really touristy places on the south coast at any time other than winter tho. I agree with you for the northern half but for the South coast - well my thoughts were to AVOID until I saw how deserted it is in winter (I grew up in a part of Oz where we USED to have endless deserted beaches but NOW I don't go anywhere near the beach when I'm home, cos just wall-to-wall tourists - you may have heard of Byron Bay? And it's crowded year round 😖)

Thank you! We actually use a DJI Osmo Action as well as a DJI Action 2 for wider angles and pov. Much prefer the DJI cameras to Gopro. Quality audio can be a challenge with these cameras though.
