This explains why I’m sometimes not moved by just beautiful voices. This could apply to the simplest folksong as well - sung by Pete Seeger, for example. The emotion and the intent.

Be assured; Andreas IS spiritual - if his inspired presentation doesn't touch you, I don't know what does.... Let's bridge those 'gaps' - Orchestergraben - the deep fosse between the singer and the listening ears :) He is trying to reach us with his explanations, why don't we just listen to him!

A lot of classical composers refer to the teaching aspect of music. This idea has been so lost, with time, that I think it needs to be resurrected and elaborated, not only in the context of classical music, but in terms of rock and folk. Certainly the teaching/preaching element is present in a lot of the best rock and folk music. With the classical composers, I always thought that the introduction of new harmonies was considered part of their "teachings."
