Really weird, but this guy on youtube called Kanch17 (coincidence?) has managed to almost perfectly recreate Andrei's first goal at the Kop end on a FIFA career mode series. It's in the second episode about three quarters of the way through.

He was an Evertonian all right. I remember at the time blues fanzine 'when skies are grey' lording that steward for "blatantly taking the piss out of his employers for the day" and he did! Taking money off LFC while openly cheering goals against them!

Why did he ever go to Everton? Was there a buzz they'd be the next big thing after the FA CUP win? He was Utds main man the 2 seasons prior quite franky, top score from the wing one season. I don't get why he ended up at Everton and not at a huge club? No disrespect to Everton or Rangers but he was wasted.

Football was different back then. There wasn't an established group of clubs who finished in the Top 6 every year. It was more about history and standing in the game. Everton had plenty. Look at it this way, in 1989 England's main goalscorer left Barcelona to join Tottenham. A club who were nowhere near winning the League and had flirted with the relegation places only the season before. The top players weren't all huddled together at a select group of clubs.
