I'm from Belgium and just like the BBC our National TV station doesn't air commercials so we are used to watch a long show without any breaks. They even air most British detective series, so we are used to it. This episode was written by Mark Gatiss (Mycroft Holmes) but it's a classic Sherlock Holmes story so him loving to write horror stories, it was right up his alley. But it's not the best episode, so can you imagine how awesome season 2 is?!! Also, don't want to give any ~ spoilers ~ (ohwno, that's another show) so I'll just leave it with telling it's okay to take your time with Sherlock. We're almost in half of all the episode's there is, so do take your time, I'm enjoying this sooooo much.

This episode is really good, I like the cast, but like episode 2 of season 1, it suffers from being the middle episode of the season, in season 3 and 4 the middles are better connected but mostly because they focused more on the characters than the cases :) Next episode though, it's fire :D

This episode is based on one, if not the most famous Holmes Story, ‘The Hound of the Baskerville. The episode has a lot of the basic plot points with Holmes and Watson going to Dartmoor to investigate reports of a gigantic dog, although the original was more based around myth and legend and manipulation rather than scientific interference and the dog was actually responsible for the deaths. They had to shoot the dog because as the owners had said it was already vicious and the drug in the fog probably made it delirious and even more aggressive. What Holmes, Watson, Henry and Greg saw would have pushed them to the limit. I feel that this episode is underrated in my opinion. A lot of viewers give it quite a lot of stick but this really keep you on your toes and the scene with Watson alone was enough to make anyone feel on edge.

Maggie Thatcher. Englands first female Prime Minister. Conservative. And to this day is still genuinely hated by both men and women all over the UK, not because of her gender but because of her politics, right down to miners wives in northern England protesting the movie that was released of her several years ago because the trailer acted as though she was a feminist icon - she called feminism a poison. There was dancing in the streets when she died, and when one woman was asked if she didn't think it was an amazing achievement of hers to be the first female prime minister she asked the interviewer "Do you really want anyone like her to be in that position, man or woman?"
