It was my dad’s scrapyard the train was from. I remember the 2 trains that were there and used to get on them. I only found out about the name when I went today to Quainton and spoke to one of the drivers who knew about its history. I’ve since bought a book from the visitors shop regards the Wolverton to NewportPagnell branch and it has a picture of the trains in the yard. Oh! Such happy memories.

I passed the railway yesterday and for the first time ever saw a train running ( it was Swordfish) then today this video pops up! Cheers

in a scrap Yard for 18 years, somewhat it sounds like its lucky its trip abroad failed as it might have ended up abandoned there and possibly scrapped, the little kiddy running for the easter bunny as he wanted to get on the set was Quite funny XD that converted coach for the guard to sit in aswell looks really impressive and so neat and unique

Hard to imagine that engine comes from one of my local steam railways, Swindon and Cricklade.

Hi Ollie, an interesting fact that "Swordfish" worked at Stanton and Staveley Iron works in Derbyshire that's just over the boarder from where I live, nice connection to the CVR. A great video Ollie, love the mix of the vintage shots and current day stuff 🤣🤣🤣I hope you and Tianna are both keeping well.

It would be good to see Swordfish running on either HM Dockyard railway in Devonport, Plymouth or on Chatham Dockyard railway. Chatham at least has the advantage that it is a museum with a submarine in permanent drydock. A submariners Remembrance service in honour of HMS Swordfish could be held with serving & ex serving submariners in attendance. The hurdle of course, as Ricky mentioned is the transport cost to the site. Thanks to Ricky for keeping this memorial in running order.

Great little short film, the black and white footage looked exactly in period for the original working life of the engine. Nicely shot. PS how's progress on the tanker.

Yes I’m there quite a lot of the running days, whether it’s driving my own loco or working on my own projects / filming, I’m usually about the site somewhere! Just depends if I have to work or not!

Swordfish is a weird name for a steam engine. I think the cutie-pie ought to have been named after you, not your KZbin channel name, rather your real name, Ollie. Any scope of Wardle Wednesdays coming back? I really miss the live streams, I hope they haven't gone forever. Besides, I miss singing, Spin me, Ollie, one more time.
