Andrew Bolt slams push for Indigenous Australians to be exempt from land tax

Sky News host Andrew Bolt says a proposal for Indigenous Australians to be exempt from land tax is “extraordinary”.
Prominent Aboriginal Elder Aunty Jill Gallagher said Indigenous people should not be required to pay land taxes or council rates as part of treaty negotiations.
Victorian Premier Jacinta Allan will not rule out the push ahead of negotiations.
“We should actually thank Gallagher, first of all, for proving that you are going to get an endless ‘gimme gimme’ from this disastrous victim mentality Aboriginal industry,” Mr Bolt said.
“It’s the standard operating procedure.”

My orphaned great great grandfather came with nothing, he worked 15hr days with no shelter, was continuously rearrested and abused, wasn't allowed to marry or own the land he had worked - he eventually bought and worked a farm property and established all his 9 living children with a good education, family homes and dreams! My parents came to Australia from Europe in the 1950s . They came with no money and very little possessions and no English language . And My father got 20 pounds when he arrived and no other help from the government . They did quite well for themselves thru hard work. Absolutely ludicrous and racist. All taxes should be based on income, not racial or cultural background. Plain and simple. Otherwise it's a breach of the Racial Discrimination Act. I agree that land tax is getting ridiculous, as is stamp duty. There should be tax relief, but based on income from your previous financial year, not based on racial or ethnic identity which is utterly divisive and offensive. I suggest it should be on a sliding scale with a commencing threshold, just like the regular tax system. For example, say the tax free threshold starts at $40K, thus if you earn over $40K you pay land tax, stamp duty and capital gains taxes on a sliding scale for every dollar above that set threshold.

This has gotten beyond a joke. Thank goodness for Warren Mundine though, he is the voice of reason, of common sense. People need to listen and go get a job and stop this racial divide. Enough already!

Well over all the years i have been here the government has been spending twice as much per capita on aboriginals than the wider Aussi population. Have we seen any benefit from this massive expenditure? Look at Alice Springs. This is not the way to bring this section of our community into a healthy place for them and the rest of us. Treat everyone the same. No treaty, not special treatment no land rights, no renaming out towns and cities. Aussies for Aussies!

my company had a group of big bosses come in from overseas, they organised an Aboriginal welcome to nation with paid Aboriginals, funny thing is there is not one single aboriginal works for us anywhere in Aussie, I find that telling
