A trans woman used to do my hair when I was around 9 years old. She and I had the same name. I had a lot of hair and it took her three hours to lay it down. She had skills. I agree, although at one time that is the term that was used to refer to those who were mentally/physically challenged. In my line of work I have parents who still refer to their adult child as “retarded” because this is the term that they’ve always used. Constantly educating on appropriate terminology.
