There he stated that it wasn't really a troll but more like a test or case study on how would dobson react to this situation. The commissioner didn't ask for a lot of revisions, dobson was just really lazy, finding excuses and proceeds victim blame. This is a test to see how Andrew Dobson aka self proclaimed "professional artist" would react in a professional situation in a professional industry.

I guess anything could be considered a troll if you're brave enough. The thing is, those of us who commissioned him were actually hoping Dobson would prove us wrong and produce something with a bit of soul (he had another Samus art piece and it looked great), but sadly-tho not surprisingly-he did not. This is just my honest opinion as a seasoned Dobsonologist, but he had legitimate talent. I still don't know how to do proper action poses which Dobson was able to do with ease. He could've been something... but the problem is that his jokes were all terrible and low-hanging, and he never actually pushed himself to be better. So if there is any good Dobson did in the end, it was to show other artists what NOT to be like.

I'd also would like to add to Metroid Other M's reputation. It is well known for assassinating Samus' character, with one of the biggest examples being when she had a mental breakdown when she encounters Ridley, the purple space dragon who killed her parents. Now, by itself it's completely fine. A character facing their parents killer would bring some emotions out of them. However, there's one small problem... Samus has fought Ridley before, in Metroid 1, and in Super Metroid. The games Other M is sequel to.

That game was doomed the moment the director said he was taking inspiration from modern western comics. 2) Said director responsible for the mismanagement of Doa6 doesn't work for team ninja anymore and will probably never be a director again since he was demoted to producer (which a demotion like that in Japan is an embarrassment) 3) The point I'm trying to make is that you can hate on Team Ninja, but hate them for something they did because the gameplay was actually the only good thing about Other M. The story, character progression, level design and bosses were all Nintendo.

Another sidenote is how much Dobson absolutely HATED shows like Breaking Bad and Bojack Horseman because, despite not actually watching them, he thought they promoted "toxic masculinity" by humanizing flawed people. He just assumed the popularity of these shows meant people were idolizing the main characters. He totally missed the point and projected that everybody else was too. The closest thing to "fringe-left" is empty virtue signalling in the hopes of selling more tickets and pissing off terminally online people to get free marketing. You know, I use to know someone just like Dobson in a discord server I was once in. He attacked anyone who liked a sexy outfit in a video game or comic calling them "objectifyers"; bullied someone with confidence issues out of a discord server once because they didn't like the star wars sequel trilogy calling them sexist and racist; wished death upon multiple game developers and comic writers for writing stories he didn't like; thought cis straight white men shouldn't be allowed to write even though some of the best writers were cis straight white men *cough* Stan Lee; said M Rated series should avoid adult themes; would insist that every female character was a lesbian even if there was no evidence or if they were confirmed straight; called stuff like breaking benjamin, three days grace, linkin park, ect edgy trash; forced his politics onto everyone; forbid people from talking about stuff like among us, FNAF, and undertale just cause it was popular; and had some of the worst takes in media I have ever seen and I am just scratching the surface with that person. Now let's be honest though, wasting someone's time as an artist for a commission you have no intention of paying for IS pretty fucking disruptive, as someone who does do commissions myself you tend to build up a schedule, you tend to have an idea of what you're going to be working on and when, and let's be real this shit doesn't exactly pay you the same way doing KZbin or streaming would. I can say on my own part that I've had to deal with this, not as a prank but simply because people don't want to pay the amount that was agreed upon, so when you're late on several commissions due to having to go back and change shit and then after all that you don't even get paid, that can fuck up your whole deal, pretty quickly if you're reliant on that money you're going to start being late on paying your bills, and that can quickly snowball into a bigger. Personally I wouldn't go this far just to try to get a rise from someone who is clearly already way too easy to anger, considering you could get more with less, while also not having to screw with someone's ability to pay for their own expenses. By all means, troll as much as you want, but preferrably keep your hands away from other people's bread, so to speak.
