To be fair you need to have a very high iq to understand the Amazing Spider-Man movies. The plot is very subtle, and without a solid grasp of themes most of the nuance will go over a typical viewer's head. There's also the movies' nihilistic outlook, which is deftly woven into their characterisation - the personal philosophy draws heavily from Narodnaya Volya literature, for instance. The fans understand this stuff; they have the intellectual capacity to truly appreciate the depths of these nuances, to realize that they're not just entertainment- they say something deep about LIFE. As a consequence people who dislike Andrew's Spidey truly ARE idiots- of course they wouldn't appreciate, for instance, the genius in Peter's existencial crisis which itself is a cryptic reference to Turgenev's Russian epic Fathers and Sons. @Elwaves29253 жыл бұрын
I always said that both Tobey and Andrew were great in the role, although both were a bit too old for it but that's Hollywood for you. IMO, the difference being that Tobey made a better Peter, as he got the geekier side of Peter, while Andrew made a better Spidey, as he got the fun and exhilaration of swinging through the city and stopping crimes etc.
@selmadjeziri82853 жыл бұрын
@@Elwaves2925 I agree with you on that, that's why I think Tom is the best because he's a good Peter and Spider-Man and is actually young. But when I hear people talk about Andrew I'm always shocked. The problem with TASM is the poor writing and the fact that Sony didn't understand the character, Andrew did a solid job he's not the one to blame.

Andrew was heavily underrated and under appreciated as Spider-Man. I hated the amazing Spider-Man 2 but one thing I can’t fault was his performance. He is basically a perfect balance of Tobey and Tom’s Spider-Man. Quippy and funny whilst also not overly reliant on technology. My favourite Spidey will always be Tobey because he’s who I grew up with but Andrew was amazing. And so is Tom.

Hopefully after Spiderman : No way Home , my theory comes true. Tom Spiderman will continue under the MCU banner, Tobey Spiderman will have a proper ending, and Andrew Spiderman will return to the big screen as the main Spidey for their Sony Spidy Villian Universe. Wanna see Tom face against Venom and the rest but feels like Andrew's spidey fits that universe better
@rufus.18043 жыл бұрын
Damn right! Seriously , i am hopinf for that tooo
@flatstheflounder28843 жыл бұрын
That'd be amazing! Tobey would finally get the proper conclusion to his story he deserved all those years ago, Tom can continue as the MCU Spider-Man and being involved in Marvel's newest projects, and Andrew would get the second chance he deserved. Furthermore on Andrew's Spidey, it'd be PERFECT for the Sony universe. TASM 1&2 had a bit more of a dark and gritty feeling to them compared to the other films, and that'd fit perfectly with them bringing in characters like Venom, Carnage, and Morbius. I could see them continuing with Andrew's Peter for some time and eventually paving way for a Miles Morales takeover in the same universe. I think that could be done really nicely and give us years worth of Spider-Man content to look forward to.

Andrew’s spider-man will always be my favorite. His spider-man was witty, smart, confident and made quips, while still also being skillful, acrobatic and compassionate. His Peter was iffy though but I did appreciate the take they were going for a more relatable character which is what spider-man is all about , relatability. His acting obviously was amazing as well, all the emotional scenes in the amazing Spider-Man series were great in my opinion, especially scenes with Aunt May. The action scenes are still my absolute favorite to the web-swinging and using his spider abilities to his advantage in battle, we don’t see that in the MCU, the choreography was so much better in the amazing films. Some of my favorite Spider-Man moments are in these films, they have really high highs for spider-man, but the writing makes the lows super low.
