Though I really do feel Spider-Man two would have been better received if the Peters’s parents sub plot and Electro as a villain was cut. More scenes with Harry and Peter would have made that final confrontation hit a lot harder.

7:52. TASM2 is the best looking Spider-Man film by a landslide. I actually have changed my mind about this film as I watched it a few weeks ago and don't feel the same way. It's a Spider-Man film that overloads, overcrowds and underdevelops everything. It somehow overcrowds and doesn't follow the story structure of a regular plotted film. Every scene is set-up for 8 different films and plot threads. It doesn't work as a film, but as a collection of Spider-Man comics smashed together, it's very entertaining. It also helps that this film is confusing and convoluted in a fascinating way. It's like a comic with multiple chapters happening at once. I have a certain connection with this film. I have a newfound appreciation for it as the mess that it is but what it's trying to do. I admire how much effort was put into the flawless filmmaking here.

Great video, but I would argue Andrews' version of the character is a great adaptation because he IS so close to comic book Peter, but everything around him is less faithful (Lizard killing George Stacy, Harry killing Gwen, Electros' origin etc.), which is a really cool juxtaposition to me. I mostly agree with TASM2 though, I love Dane Dehaans' Harry Osborn, I just wish we got more of him.

It was really a bold move on Mark Webbs behalf on in the first TASM not making Peter first use his powers for good but for selfish reasons like getting uncle ben killers instead fighting crime it more realistic interesting and Relatable that a person his age would do instead of doing it like ramis peter who is just listens instead coming to his own conclusions later which is while noble is just boring and safe . And Webbs Peter learns after the bridge what a true hero is after the conversation he had with Officer stacy ironically its more faitful to the peter parker in the comics to Ramis Peters Even Sam Rami clamied it iteration is more in tone with the comic .

Andrew spider-man nailed in a lot of thing, but they missed in the core one: guilt. Spider-man is drived by guilt and responsability, but this "amazing" spiderman is driven by revenge, like Batman. Thats the big difference, and why he feels different while everything else is just as it is suppossed to be. Motivation are the core aspect of a superhero, you mess with that and you loose it. This spider-man doesn't have that motivation, which was best nailed in Tobey maguire's movies and they did a great job in tom hollands too (they split the part of guilt, and jump right into responsability taking 3 movies to achieve that, which was pretty cool but annoying at the same time). So no, Andrew isn't too perfect, is just a Batman with Spider powers and the personality of Peter... and poor.

You dont stop a thief from robbing and he kills your uncle, you catch him, he dies, or o to jail, and thats it. at least you start from that guilt feeling responsability. Amazing for sure feels guilt in a degree, but he created the fucking lizard, Tobey doesnt create any of his villains, maybe the harry green goblin, or venom, in the worst movie of the franchaise, but the others were made by his own mistakes, and as Spiderman had his mistakes, someones turn that missed step into something good and others turned it into something bad. thats the thing. and the charm of it. Amazing Spiderman 2 gets better in this way, but it gets worst in the love interest of the hero. MJ was the one who allways wanted to be with Peter, and even when she realizes that Peter was Spiderman she choose to be with him, at the end of the best SPiderman movie ever. Amazing does the opposite. is peter who push Gwen to be with him over and over, even when she wanted to left that spiderman/peter relationship away, and because of that Gwen dies. I guess it would have interesting to see Andrew evolve from that mistake, and get a MJ who makes what MJ does, stay with Spiderman/Peter no matter what, because she wanted it. And yeah, Amazing never used its whole potential. as Holland is doing right know, so thats why I say Tobey is the best spiderman yet, and well we must see what happen with andrew spiderman and hollands, they sure got the potential to overcome Tobey, but they didnt until today.
