Fuller.GuitarLessons So New South Wales select the Australian team as well?
@CaptainChurrr9 жыл бұрын
Fuller.GuitarLessons Lol he was getting out played, i'm sure they are bad at 'selecting' dally m halfback's of the year as well. Also how Freddy, Langer, Lam, Kimmorely and Barrett keep Johns at Hooker or on the bench for most of his test career. Never seen anyone do that to Thurston after his breakout year in 2005.
@CaptainChurrr9 жыл бұрын
Fuller.GuitarLessons Lol you loss the plot. Johns is a NSW poster boy. They tried to do it again with Mitchell Pearce. Everyone knows Johns isn't and Johns himself knows it well. Heck, his brother came out and said his brother is not the best. What did you expect Thurston to say infront of a Dally M crowd? "Nah he's shit mate" Lol Brad Fitler held his spot as soon as he came into the scene. Johns has two highlights in rep footy, the 2005 game 2 and 3 and getting knocked out by Jamie Goddard, quoted by Johns himself in State of Origin 30 year anniversary DVD. And it's not "so what if the selectors didn't pick him" - it tells the story of his over hyped career. The guy has 1 his premiership tarnished by drugs, it's his first one where a handful of players were caught and fined for performance enhancing drugs before that next season is played. 2 premierships under the super league war. What Johns did in 2005 happened to him ten fold by Langer and Lockyear in late 90's and Thurston and Smith been doing it since 2006. Johns only able to do in flashes. There is heaps of NSW fans that say Johns did not deserve 8th immortal, and going off all his off field antics since, they were right. You can't give that status only for what they did on the field, that status also bares the face of the game. You think people and kids will look immortals list and see Johns there, they will see - racist, drunk, druggie and fraud.
@MattKonig18 жыл бұрын
Andrew Johns legacy is that he changed the game of rugby league permanently. Before Johns almost all tries were scored through the hands not through kicks. Johns revolutionised the game through introducing a wide range of different attacking kicking options. It got to the point a few years after the trend Johns started that so many tries were scored by kicks they considered lowering the points of a try by a kick, and having a higher score for a try through the hands. We take it for granted now that attacking kicking options are just a natural part of the game and don't think twice about it. But watch old video clips of rugby league and you'll see very few kicks from kicks. Maybe the odd grubber here or there, or chip, but nothing like there is now. I mean even the Wallabies hired Johns to help them with kicking and you see more attacking kicking in Rugby Union than there used to be.

HAHAHAHAHA why should i bother. To sum it up. ecstasy increases energy generation in the body. Rugby and driving use different levels of energy in different ways. Rugby uses that energy in physical movement. (running, kicking, tackling...) Driving involves little physical energy, so that extra energy is used up by thoughts. With that extra energy you think through multiple things at time. This creates a sense of confusion as there are to many thoughts for your mind to process. Confusion and driving don't mix. hope that helped you little dumb shit.

lockyer became a legend in two different positions. at fullback he won a premiership, origin series, australian rep and won in all test series. at five-eighth he did the same and won premierships, origin series, australian test team and all as captain. 2006 lockyer became the first since langer to captain winning teams in premiership, origin and australia's tri nations. think of that before you think of andrew johns acheivements.
@SuperEel2213 жыл бұрын
@MegaMachyn Lockyer and Joey played different positions. Locky was and still is the greatest 5/8 the game has ever seen and Joey is the greatest 7 the game has ever seen. Locky and Joey were both named in the team of the century. Joey wins on the basis that he played in a Newie team that didn't have half the Aus team in it like Brisbane did. Joey's career was also cut short by a kneck injury.

(cont.) .. on the flip side, all highlights shown of joey johns include club matches for the knights, origin matches, and test matches. Andrew Johns was a quality player in and out nearly each week from his first ever 1st grade game till his last few seasons. No-one had more influence on the game, as a whole, than Andrew Johns. Wally Lewis as great as he was, was pretty much only the pinnacle for Origin.

How is Lockyer mentioned in the same breath as Johns ? Lockyer has been a great player for a long time but most can name a number of better fullbacks and plenty of better 5/8. Johns was an attacking genius, hit like a forward in defence and at one time was the leading point scorer in the game. The only thing Lockyer has on him is longevity. When Thurston has the same impact in defence and can steer the Cowboys to a premiership he might then be worthy of comparison to Johns.

NSW really are doing better in 2011 and this year without chopping and changing too much of their players, 2010 was just insane the amount of changes they made. They need team organisation and it is a good thing for NSW to choose good or great players and just stick with them and trust them to do their job, cause they are capable. I really do not know hwo will win game 3 if NSW even win game 2, last year game 3 was a blow out in the first 25 minutes that NSW never recovered from in that game.

Agree with that, I was really impressed with Hayne in that first Origin game he looked like the best back on the whole field (apart from Inglis). He needs to stay as a fullback where he can run more - I am not a fan of him being first receiver. He should only pass occasionally but run should always be his first thought. Watch Inglis this year for the bunnies, he always has a run first mentality, does pass sometimes and pretty decent, but running is definitely his strength.
