Andy L left because of the filming shedule - he has a family and was away for months, I think thats why he agreed to do this vs come back to the show, its only 6 episodes vs 16+. I really agree though, it seems silly to split everyone up for spin offs BUT I think they're absolutely bringing the main show back in 5 years to conclude everything, aint no way are we not going to get a Rick/Daryl or Rick/Maggie reunion, I think they're just exploring different stories before eventually coming back for the last mini series as a group.

A TWD episode is basically 45 minutes to one hour of a show. A movie is normally 1.5 to 2 hours long. So six episodes is the perfect length, as expected, it is basically a TV movie trilogy. In a way, AMC is still keeping its word. More importantly, so is Andrew Lincoln ... and now Danai Gurira.

Thank you so much for posting this. I was dying to attend the TWD panel but im in Florida. The TWD segment was fantastic and obviously this was the best. The news we were all hoping for! A multi-season series is SO much better than a Rick movie trilogy. My only gripe is, I kinda wish they didn't do the other spinoffs. THIS is the sequel we all wanted (check out the tweet engagement from 4 months of Isle of the Dead vs 4 hours of Rick & Michonne lol). It would be nice to have some of our main characters back in the Rick & Michonne story. So Daryl, Negan, Maggie will never cross paths with Richonne again? I hope they scrap the Daryl show, just make him a lead in this. Unless we get some cross over episodes (which seems possible), I don't get why we have all of these characters separating into their own shows. The TWD fans want the gang back together. Don't get me wrong, I am thrilled. This is the news I was hoping for. But if we don't get a Daryl, Maggie, Negan reunion with Rick & Michonne, I will be disappointed. Also, many assumed the Negan/Maggie show & the Daryl show were going to be (at least originally) centered around finding/saving Rick. Obviously, that is going to take place in this show. I can't wait to find out why the hell Negan and Maggie are heading to NY? And Daryl in Europe? Honestly? I hate to say this cuz I love Norman Reedus but I kinda think the Daryl show is not really happening, That he will take the death of Rick from the comics. Robert Kirkman fooled fans by saying the comics would continue and abruptly ended them with Rick's death at the hands of Sebastian. This would be a pretty fitting homage. I would hate to see Daryl out of TWD, I just think this is what is going to happen, unfortunately. Especially after seeing Negan kick the shit out of Sebastian in the trailer.

I agree with the Daryl show not happening. It's been so evasive since it was announced, then they had to announce Melissa McBride's departure. I suspect that this has been set up to lower speculation that Daryl dies. Every other series has more substance in their publicity, but not Daryl's. Even Rick and Michonne's series now has more substance than Daryl's did from the beginning.

@@CynthiaKnowlton Exactly! 100%. They need a huge death at the hands of Sebastian & honestly Daryl would be the most shocking and painful for the fans. It makes total sense, especially like you said, with the lack of news we've received & strange situation with the show. It was originally going to be in someplace in the United States (I forget now) and then turned to Europe, then Melissa "backed out". Norman said "the Daryl & Carol story is definitely not over" & I don't doubt him. I wonder if they turn Daryl & Carol into the feature episode of Tales of the Walking Dead, season 2? The Daryl spinoff was announced but went backwards, we get nothing but vague answers from Norman Reedus, & if they found a way to do a side story of Daryl & Carol, it could definitely be the whole marketing campaign behind Tales Season 2. I could see them putting the two of them on every advertisement they put out. It gives Melissa some time off & fans are going to be dying for more Norman Reedus assuming he is killed by Sebastian. Maybe they even kill Carol, too, and then like I said, feature them both in Tales Season 2. Imagine how HUGE it would be for that show! One last thing I just thought of? They've been showing that clip of Daryl holding Rick's gun A LOT. I think this is symbolic of Daryl taking Rick's spot from the comics. They've also been setting up the Sebastian/Daryl tension for quite a bit & who assumed the role of surrogate parent for Judith and RJ? Daryl. It makes TOO MUCH sense. I am 99% sure this is happening.
