BTW the Godmother pops up here, Sebastian bumps into her and is like Where did you get that necklace? And the Godmother says "OHHHH YOU'RE THE ONE SHE WAS TRYING TO IMPRESS. Sucks you must have messed you, you know what! Here, have this?' 'The necklace, why?' 'As a reminder of your failure.' And then she just walks away, SAVAGE!

I've been listening to this whole OST, and I gotta say seeing your comments has given me some insight into the show! Unfortunately I can't get to the West End, so I'm unable to see the show proper, so this scrambled list of songs is my first impression. If it's not weird, I've gotta ask your thoughts! A couple of the songs had parts that made me a little bit unsure, like they're leaning super hard into "I'm not like the other girls" territory and being kinda rude about it, but there's a lot I like so far. Would you say in context that everything works pretty well? How does it all look on stage?

@@jaceybella1267 HEY ! In Summary, Yh everything makes sense in context, it's soo fun and funny (INCOMING TED TALK OF MT OBSESSED NERD SPOILERS DUH...) I saw the 3rd of July preview so things might change a little I mean this is the concept album and there weren't many differences apart from sea witch being omitted please someone say they brought it back :-( I've got to admit when Bad Cinderella came out I too was a bit cautious like I expected this high art Into the Woods level analysis stuff It's not that, it just a fun unique twist on Cinderella, refreshing, hilarious, a little cheesy but it goes with the tone of the crazy towns perfectionism. I agree sometimes it can be a bit too literal even for me like "Charmings back and he is soo out" makes me a bit uncomfortable given (I assume) homophobic don't exist in this world everything is about beauty. But it works if you look at it as everyone in the town is soo fake and modelled that the songs are the only time they show who they really are or how hard they're hiding it. ALL THE PERFORMANCES ARE AMAZING MY LORDS THE DRESSES!!!!!!! ESPECIALLY THE QUEEN'S ARE GORGEOUS! The staging is cool with the few set pieces especially the town market they have and the use of the turntable. The highlight for me was the Godmother's shop it feels like the entire theatre goes cold and she comes out in her suit like hi I'm ready to cut you up and fix "God's mistakes" And there are dancers frozen complete white statues from head to toe for so long it was scary when they started moving. They could have played up the pain and I guess reverse body horror though of the transformation cause Cinderella didn't seem in that much pain. It also makes me question future casting, like ethnicity won't be a problem but the world limits things so only Cinderella and Sebastian can be "unconventionally" attractive you know like body shapes and what not so does that mean that we'll get to see more of those marginalize actors cast as the leads automatically from now on. Will the rest of the town just be a time capsule of "conventional" body standards and beauty of that era? THE BALL IS A STUNNING HIGHLIGHT TO OPEN ACT 2 If you can get front row seats it will be a ride but honestly the theatre is medium-sized and the cast is 20 people max so it feels really intimate especially when the stage spins to the centre of the theatre. So none of the seats feels like you've got a bad view really and I was high up in the circle. I adore it, then again it's my sort of fun show, it pushes the boundaries but overall knows that you're there to have fun! No to make you cry or ache or reflect like Hamilton or Into the Woods or Hairspray....kind of I have seen other reviews saying it was just ok, I feel like if this kind of show isn't your thing you'll still enjoy it, it just not be as obsessed as I am. It's not flashy and big like Wicked but not bare bone and plain either. Not really groundbreaking Hadestown stuff just fun, hilarious and refreshing are the best words I think. DEFINITELY WORTH IT!

I have tickets for the show in October- and I'm down the front so my dad and I have been told "our seats will move in more ways than one" SO EXCITEMENT IS AN UNDERSTATEMEMT. Love the songs so far and the story, especially the ending. This song just seems so natural. Neither of them want a fancy wedding, Cinders just wants freedom and Sebastian is more than happy to come along. (Also hi from Twitter lol)

Honestly when I first heard 'Bad Cinderella' separately for the first time, it was very "cringey" in a way, although I think the song is awesome and very well done. But honestly, the language of the songs didn't bother me when I listened to the whole album of the musical because knowing its context and the kind of comedy it does in my opinion it comes out very well. Also with the type of music and lyrics that the musical uses it reminded me a lot of the works of Starkids, now, I'm not saying that he took inspiration from them (although it is possible even if unlikely) but the vibes are those and I loved it. p.s. 'Beauty Has A Price' low-key best song of the musical😌.
