Just discovered this incredible song. I'm not usually really into country, but I've been listening to it in loop for hours. It took my dad more than a year to meet my husband, back then boyfriend, because he felt too uncomfortable with the idea and now he loves him and when I wasn't there he once picked him up at the airport alone and bought him about a month's worth of food so he didn't have to go shopping after his long journey. Same for my mom and brother. It took them some time, but now she loves him and my brother makes an effort when he sees him. I know it's really hard and it hurt, but sometimes people change, don't give up hope.
