Hi Alfonso, We are researchers in human-computer interaction (HCI) looking for people who have taken an initiative to recently learn Machine Learning on their own, for career, course or curiosity. Seems like you are in that place currently. Would you mind telling us here (www.surveymonkey.ca/r/SelfLearning_ML) about your experiences and any difficulties you faced while self-teaching ML and how you overcame them. There is also a chance to win $50 giftcard. You can help this project by taking out 5-10 minutes to participate in our study. For more details, see here: www.surveymonkey.ca/r/SelfLearning_ML Please share this request with your colleagues or friends who fit this description. People from any major/background may participate. The survey will be open until July 31, 2020.

one of the most important segment of the video is 45:40 when the moderator ask how to begin for the lifelong learning of ai/ml/ds etc..., because of the so much information, people, courses are there. I would suggest that you listen from 4:50 as it is when the main thing begin, but do pay attention to so many little points given by the professor in the coversation.

Thanks to Andrew and Jose. I took notes. Inspired by Andrew's Dad's work inspiring Andrew... I have enrolled in "AI for Everyone" for my 6-year-old son, he's excited by the Introduction video, I've added it to my calendar for lockdown homeschooling.

Thank you Professor Ng for your sharing. May I ask is there any way I could learn more about the product manager training you mentioned in the video? i have been a product manager all my life and I started taking courses on AI. How could I be a better PM for the industry?
@vcool6 жыл бұрын
A PM is not a real job; it's a b/s paper pusher. It's not too late to become an engineer instead.
@chihoxtra6 жыл бұрын
@@vcool Dear, I see your point. That's why even as a PM I wanted to equip myself with the relevant knowledge so that I could work better with engineers. I also wanted to start my career as an engineer but it wasnt easy... I have completed the coursera deeplearning.ai courses, ML course and also an AI nanodegree from udacity. But employers dont really give a xxxx to these certs as I do not have real life experience. I am at my mid 3x now. I am not sure what should I do go get a job on ML/AI. I am really fascinated by what it could do and I am still learning.
@JohnSmith-iw8cm6 жыл бұрын
@@chihoxtra It's true that no employers care about these certifications, but that doesn't mean they're not useful. You've certainly learned a great deal about how ML, now prove it to employers by making a super cool and useful project that interests you. That being said, switching careers is always hard, especially if you're already established. It may turn out that even making incredible side projects is not enough to do it. In that case, and if you're really sure that ML is your dream, you may want to consider getting a graduate degree.

This talk, although good, could have better emphasized the point that the biggest possible applications are in programming robotics to do intelligent physical work. Driving cars and tractors are just two such examples out of two million possible ones. Think of all the physical work humans do! Unfortunately, however, we seem to lack appropriate commodity mobile robotic platforms for this purpose. An exception is drones; these are competitively available.

It's actually a good idea because you could use a neural network for the natural language processing model to find the nonwords and just label their timestamps for deletion from recording as part of post p rocessing.
