Actually, Vancouver did get 9th overall for Cory Schneider in 2013. But it was for 9th overall straight-up. So it has happened, but it's still rare. And the Bruins are probably not getting Kastelic and Korpisalo in addition to a Top 10 selection in any draft.

Ullmarks no trade list, limited where he went to. That's on management. My big question is, you were trading Ully to move his 5 million from the cap, didn't want to spend big bucks on two goalies. So why take on Joonas at 3 million, to only save 2 million?

Not even 2 million you also took back a 4th liner who cost 835 k when you could have just extended Boqvist. So yeah you got back a 1st that's super. You got back a 4th liner. That didn't make a ton of sense but it didn't hurt anything. But you then took back a cap dump and you didn't seem to get an additional return for that dump. Detroit just had to give up a 2nd to move on from a guy with two years at 3.4 who's a good dman you'd want. We didn't even get back a 3rd to take on 4 years of Korpi at 3? Unacceptable.

Ottawa actually had a better expect goals against than Boston. Goaltending sunk them.

I think it’s a win for both teams. If Ottawa can’t sign him then Ottawa becomes the losers. Ottawa fans need this. Tired of getting kicked in the balls from that organization.

Even if they don’t sign him getting most of korpisalo money out of the organization is a huge win. Kastelic is a fringe nhler on a bad team.

@@carbb5760 Kastelic is in great shape, plays hard 70% of the time, and does take shifts off, but he is good in the dot, and is not afraid to jump in and fight to protect his teammates. But he was strictly a 4th liner on a team that had 0 true NHLers on that 4th line.

Sweeney kept kicking the can down the road and boxed himself into making a terrible trade……on all fronts. Sweeney is the worst GM in Bruins history……including the disaster that was Chiarelli. The common denominator on the Bruins…..Cam Neely has no business being a club President. From a GAA impact, this trade takes the Bruins backwards. 25th pick…..worthless with Sweeney’s bungling draft picks!

I definitely agree about Sweeney kicking the can down the road. The time to sell on Ullmark was right after he was handed that shiny Vezina Trophy, much like Vegas did with Fleury a few years ago.
