I say that if you move to Romania to be free of more Westernized countries' laws, then you should you understand that you are making yourself subject to _Romanian_ laws and their sense of what counts as "due process" ... that includes their conceptions of when they can jail you. This is an example of "play stupid games, win stupid prizes" at work. Don't move to a country with a limited respect for the rule of law, if you want the protection of a robust rule of law.
