I've come up blue more than red, and I know a lot of moderate Republicans and they can't switch over for a "socialist", their words, not mine, so Bernie would lose a vast chunk of the middle. All that said, I'm for Yang and think liberally, but he's the only Democrat I would vote for in the general. And technically, I'm on the side of Democrats. So, if Yang doesn't make the nomination, let's not hear any boo hooing when Trump gets a second term. On a positive note, comedians and media outlets will continue to boom with more material than they know what to do with. :-)

Anthony Losego The thing is, most Republicans aren’t economic centrists. If you look at demographics of who voted in 2016, the largest demographic was socially liberal economically left, then socially conservative economically left, than socially conservative economically right, than socially liberal economically right. A lot of the people who are socially conservative and economically left vote Republican because the Democrats haven’t proposed much in the way of actually leftist policies in a while, but Bernie does draw a large segment of their vote (as does Yang, both of these candidates have similar demographics although Bernie is more successful with nonwhite voters and overall more well known).
