It’s a very easy scramble, there is a small flat area up the ridge where I camped. I was woken up by a group of marines on a training excercise. Don’t know if you mentioned in video but area is very boggy.
@MonsyGo3 ай бұрын
A decent scramble that, I'm too panicky on heights to try it myself. Worth it though for those views

Brilliant. Scott kindly gave me some info on Moel Siabod maybe 6 months ago, it has been near the top of my list since. I'll get there someday!! Cheers Andy

i wouldnt want to have lived in any of those places back in those times steven..beautiful area's but they were only there for one thing to work in some very harsh times.

Great video. That brought back memories. Moel Siabod was the first mountain i walked up. It was part of some adventure training back in 1976. Happy days.

Hey Andy!! Awesome watch as always on this superb channel... I did your exact route last year but only on a day hike, fair play doing the Daear Ddu ridge with your camping pack on, although I know you've done a lot worse lol. I saw someone use that little shelf by the Llyn on a video before too haha. Great minds n all that... I saw quite a few groups with helmets on when I was there and asked one of them, apparently its a very popular place for people to learn scrambling and 'climbing schools' so to speak use the Daear Ddu ridge a lot, so I was told. Although I had the opposite experience to you and there was easily 30 + people that crossed paths with me on a week day too lol. Weather was blue skies and sunny though in the summer. Those sun rays over the mountains at the summit were epic mate! Brilliant! Looked like you had a great camp and thanks very much for sharing as always. ATB pal hope you're good 👍🏻 Chris 🙏🏼😊😊🫶🏻
@AndrewBeavers10 ай бұрын
can see why that ridge is one to learn on chris it has that exposure right on the edge but than the safety away from it to practise the scrambing..cracking mountain to camp on the views over to snowden etc on that side are amazing..

Another great video Andy and an area I've never walked in before. Interesting to see the Chinook in use, though it seems to have got an easy job this time. It will be interesting to hear your longer-term comments once you've used it a bit more in some harsher conditions. Thanks again.

I scrambled the ridge a few years back with a group one summer, great fun, and my vertigo wasn't triggered lol. Awesome video as usual Andy, I need to get back to Snowdonia, it's been a while.

Nice one Andy. I must trace your steps next spring? Too old these days for winter camping in the damp lol As im retired probably go midweek when it will be quiter than quiet? That shelf above the quarry lake looks a good place to camp. ATB

Another new tent! Big Sky make some brilliant kit. I’ve been using their Dream Sleeper pillow and for me it’s brilliant. I’ll be using my new tent later this winter - a Modus 2p which is all weather and weighs in at a few grams shy of 1kg including the inner and the pegs. It’s an El-Nino winter so I’m looking forward to a super cold season and the snow. As for going out of your tent for a bathroom break - I take a ‘hydrapak stash’ (one litre) and avoid that palaver. Enjoy your week.

Great to watch your version of this trip as well as Scotts . I like the look of that Big Sky Chinook but the internal space looks a bit too snug or is that just the camera angle ?? Will you be doing a review or sharing your opinion on it ???

i may do my own video of it tbh..i like it a lot its like a little limpet..space inside is bigger than the soulo was actually..doesnt look it on video but it is..

Watched all the way through ... how do you get 8hrs kip! I normally get 5 or 6 max. What's the difference between mythic and neutrino pro? I take one's a bit warmer? Never seen chinook 1p. Looks simple and quick pitch? Will do some research on this... I take it you would recommend. Think I will mention this location to my pals. Brill video as always.
@AndrewBeavers10 ай бұрын
i sleep really well whilst camping i suppose the connection of being outdoors relaxes me more..the mythic 600 weighs 860grams & rated to about -12 comfort limit where as the neutrino pro 900 weighs 1.4kg & rated to -22 comfort limit...chinook is a nice little shelter really easy to pitch & really strong..
