@raya65322 жыл бұрын
V is naturally a baritone (as you hear in Singularity) - the only baritone singer in all of kpop-but can hit crazy high notes like this in Stigma so he is considered the vocalist with the widest vocal range in the group. Their group songs tend to lean towards a higher range the other members are more comfortable with naturally. But in the end as a group they’ve said that they choose what sounds best for the song overall which makes sense. His ability to do both the undernotes and highs in his verses and adapt to whatever is required in any song they do to blend in is impressive.

I sometimes feel guilty listening to Stigma. I find V’s vocals to be absolutely gorgeous. So pleasurable to listen to but then you have that juxtaposition of heart wrenching lyrics. I’m torn between selfishly wanting to enjoy the sounds and caring that one of my fave singers is recalling a difficult time. It’s an ongoing saga as I’m yet to fall out of love with the vocal delivery. At least I’m not alone in being mesmerised by these vocals!

Yes, I couldn't even focus on the lyrics during this reaction, but I agree that the lyrics are very deep and personal...
@lilyjoeliani65582 жыл бұрын
@@AndrewBergSax It's very personal. This song is like a lament, based on his grief and sadness that he wasn't present when his beloved Grandma, who raised him up, passed away. It's also a cultural thing, especially in East Asia, where the oldest son/grandson (he is) is expected to be present and carry some duty during the funeral. Taehyung (V) was on BTS tour in the Philippines when the news reached him. So there's a feeling of failure, guilt towards his younger siblings who had to take over that responsibilities for him. Such deep emotions. A feeling of shame because he wasn't able to fulfill a cultural responsibility. What has happened can not be erased, leaving a stigma. Hence the title.

Yess I was sure you'd do stigma, the chords progression of the saxophone are amazing, especially this part with Gm⁷, Gbm⁷, Fm⁷, Bb. The chromatic progression being weighed down by the Bb which gives us a feeling of falling down and not stopping but still let us know that the chord progression stops there since Bb isn't a chromatic to F (I don't really know if this is the way to say it in english sorry 😅 This is also a personnal opinion so it might not be totally accurate for you) Anyways, all of that to say Stigma is very interesting, especially when we try to analyze the music. Each chord is strong but still light. A good song. They did a great job into giving us the emotions they wanted to share. V's matchs very well too, his voice range giving this song a strange and mysterious vibe but still very expressive.

Just goes to show that my understanding of chords and whether they are simple or complex needs work xD This is really one of my favourite BTS songs though so I am SOOOO happy we got to hear your thoughts on it! I knew it would send you into another dimension! To answer your question "why doesn't he do this in every song?", you're right that you haven't heard every BTS/V song yet, but also Stigma is definitely getting pretty darn close to the top of his range. But yeah he can also go VERY low being a baritone (we're pretty sure?) and all, as we saw in Singularity! Seems very relaxed too, like you pointed out. Never apologize for being shellshocked by it all! CFA 🥕

actually, if you watch RM vlive which he explained behind the scene of wings, he clearly said "his parents and family" referring 'his' to 'V.' So, i think, this song relates to V's biological siblings. But, i watch rise of bangtan, V said that this song is somehow a reflection of him because he did a lot of mistakes which troubled his hyungs and noona (whether members or staff). BU is Lumpens and Bang PD's idea but their songs still contain their personal story. When consider the references in their songs, their personal stories came first before the BU.

oohh hungry Tae! I'm so excited you got to experience the full power of this song finally! After all these years, his vocals especially in this particular live performance just blow me away. 🤯 I love the atmosphere of this instrumental, almost makes me feel like i'm sitting between the different instruments playing around me. Like for example percussions behind me, and the wind chimes run from left to right (with a bit of a retrograde in the middle???) And the echo on the drum parts also give the impression that this is all recorded live in one room (at least to my ears). Although, based on your discussion of midi sounds and such, I suspect this atmospheric spatial effect is mostly due to how the different tracks and sounds were mixed and arranged on the stereo channels 🤔 I am just smiling and nodding along while you freak out over that bridge section multiple times 😁 Of course we have the glorious return of the ii-V-I progression! I love that you visualised them with the emojis, too 😂 You mentioned vocals being almost clearer in the live compared to the recording. I usually have this with group songs mostly, and sometimes with solos, when they use a lot of layering and also filters and processing on their voices in order to achieve a particular effect for the recorded version. But then in this particular case, there is the backing-vocals-choir of course, but the main line is not too processed. So yeah, it is very impressive how he managed to pull this one off. He was quite nervous for this performance, because it's so difficult, and there's a chance that something goes wrong, but then on the flipside when it all goes well it's so amazing. Please don't apologize for being excited 😁 it's always lovely to see you genuinly happy because of music. Thank you for another wonderful reaction video 💜 🥕 CFA

I don’t think he is underrated, not by BIGHit. They knew from the start V had a golden voice, reason why they did not show him off until his debut, out of fear the other companies would « steal » him. I love the BTS vocal line altogether. Each of the 4 voices has its own particular sound, and they all fit and blend so well together. I find that of Jungkook very nice, but yet very classic of the Korean boys groups voices. V and Jin’s voices are very special and uncommon I think, and each one fits a certain type of music. I love Jimin’s voice and high notes, but by itself, it would tend to lose its power. That’s why, for me, BTS is the 4 voices or nothing.

I love the way BTs is willing to subordinate their individual... let's say "extremes"... in service to group songs -- for example, the cover of "Fix You" on MTV Unplugged, which is this amazing exercise in precise control and harmony. And then they have their solos and their non-BTS projects where they can push to those extremes without it unbalancing anything else. They have such flexibility as artists, which has certainly contributed to their longevity.

LOL if you didn't play it back 3 times I would've just gone back so thank you for doing us all the favor.

Thanks so much for your awesome reaction. I do appreciate it a lot.👍☺️ Honestly, everytime i open KZbin and see V's stigma being played/reacted to, i never get tired watching it especially the live version. Singularly is also worth watching. This is my second fave after Stigma .great performance and cheography.♥️👏♥️

Loved this reaction, there is so much to admire in this song, not least how he performs it live. There used to be (don't know if it is still around) a video just following the progression of his eventual mastery of the high wailing part. It is kind of painful to hear his struggles, especially as he keeps working through it IN LIVE PERFORMANCES,. But oh my God, he's got it dialed in now.
