Best mod for that ripper is to attach a "cutting blade" to the back of it. It has 5 or so teeth on it like a circular saw blade(scaled up obviously). It also sped up the process of ripping tree stumps out of the ground because it could cut/shear the stump while it was still in the ground.

the shale ripper - surprisingly productive once you noodle around with it a bit - you will use the hammer attachment quite a bit, it may seem a little slow but it really isn't, the swale bucket will be incredibly useful for finishing up roads and making nice drainage ditches - remember to grease everything up, you should be able to sell a bunch of rock and gravel and have plenty of work and projects this summer

Way back in the Mid Seventies that rock breaker was "new tech" I remember being told the Tungsan bit was five thousand pounds! Andrew I think what you need is the Split Fire Log Splitter excavator attachment. It's great for splitting/breaking up large rounds. It uses the hydraulics on your excavator to drive the wedge through big trunk pieces already chainsawed into manageable rounds like 16" for example wide.

Two good attachments from respected manufacturers. The ripper from Oriel attachments is made in Ireland 🇮🇪 and the tilt bucket is by Strickland made in the UK 🇬🇧 p.s, get a bottle of nitrogen and a kit for re-gassing your hammer. Its simple to do by yourself rather than waiting for someone to come out and do it. Good luck with your new purchases.👍

Reverse-mounted attachment and heavy load (like the rock slab) is a great way to make your boom and/or stick crack. You're basically working against the normal stress pattern and greatly accelerating metal fatigue, much like reverse-bending a paperclip. I mean, I get it, it works much better than ripping it the normal way... but your machine is going to be sad.

Hi Andrew that jack hammer is a nice attachment. I use one often in a underground coal mine when straight up and down they work good but if your tilted forward I move forward a bit to keep the same angle and it won’t stall out because your angle stays the same, been watching your channel since you first started and picked up a lot of tips. love your channel mate

When you're not using your rock breaker for long periods of time store it upright. If laid down for long periods the weight of the piston etc can squash the seals. Most manufacturers and reps dont even know or suggest this. Speaking from experience owning and rebuilding my own breakers over the last 20 years. We usually concrete a pipe into the ground at the yard so the moil fits inside it to stand it upright safely.

Andrew take some carpet and band clamps and put it around the base of the hammer. Leave it so you can see a few inches of the bit. This is what we did when braking concrete in down town dallas. Works pretty good

One of the things I love about your channel versus say Jesse or letsdig18 is that it's gentle on my ADHD, typically you always go into time lapse mode at the exact right moment. Well that’s a first I’ve heard that quick attach couplers restrict flow. I have 3 hammers mounted on a 5 ton,14, and 45 ton excavators with quick attach couplers all from the factory. On the 140 Volvo we even use the tilt rotor with the hammer.

Just get a hydraulic concrete crusher. It crushes concrete and cuts metal for breakfast, the wood is like... tootpicks to clean it. There's also ripper + crusher jaw combos out there. I'd get the kind that has two rippers, one per jaw. The larger one on the moving jaw and the smaller one on the static jaw. I think they're called rhino jaws.

That's exactly what they are. All the parking curbs in the northeast were primarily made from Catskill bluestone. My neighborhood in NJ was all bluestone curbs and bluestone sidewalk. But concrete has taken over that role now.

Stump splitting thumbs up, even though this takes extra time you will gain that time back on the burn pile. due to more surface area exposed stumps will burn up !! worked for a company that split stumps with a digging bucket corner tooth only, just hit them hard!! But not with a quick attach bucket Trackhoe was pretty good size Komatsu 300 j

You need to get yourself a hydraulic screw wood slitter for your excavator. I seen people split stumps and very big logs with one of those.. They are simple and work very well

Split 4 foot logs into firewood easy.. Screw type needs very little power to run but with very big results.. They have been around for like 30 years or more

The power of those big hammers is incredible and I get a kick out of seeing them in use in person. Even the ripper claw is powerful. There's a big komatsu excavator running a big hammer on a farm near where I live. The farmer said he is removing some big rocks to extend his dam but we are meant to be entering a drought here in Australia so hopefully he can get the dam filled first
