Using a mini excavator to dig out a drainage trench next to a driveway, and remove a bad culvert pipe to stop water from running down the driveway surface.

I've just realised what makes Andrew's video's so relaxing to watch - he sets the music volume at speech level. Nearly every other KZbinr racks theirs up so high that I have to lunge for the volume control. Just thought I'd post my appreciation for a small mercy.

Where he made the water drain to, I felt he should of made that area bigger, and put a base of stone there on top of some sort of underlayment. My guess is sediment will collect at the mouth of the drain pipe before long and he'll be out there dredging again.

LOTS of comments here about Andrew's work, his ethic, and the extra's he does that others will not.......(in my opinion) this is the result of how this fine person was raised. Spend time with your children. Yes, let them tear stuff up......but then show them the "correct" way to fix things....have pride in their work....make sure little details do not go overlooked. Andrew inspired me to take on a drainage issue I had this summer.......lots of hard work, and the results were great! I have said this before.....but Andrew needs his own diy show on ty......doing things "his" way. He is an inspiration to all that get the privilege to see him at work.....

Probably the 20th time that I have watched this one. Sums up the best of Andrew, to me. He convinces the property owner that replacing the old pipe is not necessary, thus saving the owner some money. Also, problem is solved. I noticed that in this one, Levi acts like a small child, alway looking back to see that he is in Andrew's line of sight. Kids used to drive me crazy sitting right in front of our television to play, blocking our view. They wanted to be sure that their mom or dad was watching them. LOL. This is a great video. When Andrew has long lags between video releases, I always come back to this one, to pass time.

Andrews voice cracking on "Levi and I are out heRe today..." reminds me of a guy in high school named George. He used to do it all the time. Andrew already appears ageless at around 34, but that voice cracking gives the impression that he is much younger. I am 64, so I could use some voice cracking myself, but I have trouble just pushing words out. LOL. Below, some have also noticed the cracking and that Levi did not waste any time getting all muddy. They even thought that it was sly how Levi looked back at the camera as if to say, "So what. I got muddy. Big deal." This is my current favorite Andrew video. It show how he actually solves a drainage problem by REMOVING a pipe, rather than selling and installing another, as those only thinking of profit would do. Now, one less pipe does the work of what two use to do. I know that I have watched this one at least 7 times, since I found it.

In my opinion, this is the most definitive Andrew Camarata video. It is full of his common sense. He makes one culvert do the work of two. Actually saves his customer money, rather than telling his customer that he needs a replacement culvert. It has excavating, trees pushing over, chain sawing, scrap metal loading, time lapsed photography, mud and water for Levi, some snow on the ground, gravel spreading, Levi doggy duties, industrial wordless percussive music and aerial drone footage. It does not have the most views yet, but it is the one that you should recommend that anyone thinking of subscribing to his channel, watch first. He is around 34 years old, nearly half my age, but his voice peak in the word heRe makes he seem even younger. Ageless Andrew, new nickname. He get a lots of work out of this little excavator. I believe it is secretly his favorite piece of equipment. It must be great to be discovering him for the first time because with over 300 videos, you could watch a different one everyday, whether he came out with more new ones or not.

Great video and love your dog, he looks fun! The old drainage pipe looks to have silted up because it was not installed to the right depth which meant traffic eventually caused it to collapse. I would have dug the roadside ditch a bit deeper to allow for silt and tree debris to build up before it filled the trench again after a few years. Then put a trench across where the old drain pipe was and dug that to 2ft deep minimum. Then installed a ribbed 9inch plastic drainage pipe topped with 1inch clean limestone/gravel across the road to a 3ft square soak away. Top dressing it as you did. No need to go off into the woods with a drainage pipe if you use a soak away.

Aww dude, you used that music again (end of vid) I love that song, still can't find it though. Edit: Somg is called Row and it’s by Raden Siwa. Great vid, always amazes me how you're able to eyeball the gradient for good water flow, while you're digging.

My first video on your channel and I'm already an addict. From what you're doing on that mini excavator. I can only imagine you operating the full sized excavators. Bad man on a machine 💪🏾✊🏾

I enjoy watching how this guy is able to fix anything mechanical, good job! The terrain looks to be all around flat and then at the very end of the video he uses a drone and there is this huge mountain behind the house, I was shocked to see that :-)

Enjoyed the video. I wish I had bought a mini excavator instead of a Compact NH with backhoe. I did the same thing through my woods to drain a low spot. In our Township they are not supposed to push water on the neighbors but it happens. My ditch filled with leaves and it became a annual event. I would use a shovel and rake to clean it out. I ended up taking a few years to put a pipe in with gravel on top to make a french drain. Water comes down the slope and drops into the pipe.

I'm critical of your container castle, but after seeing your job, I can trust you so much more now. I guess alot of spiral staircases and metal buildings I've seen are over-engineered and are made for "massive" amounts of visitors.

Dear Andrew, So I came across your video here and just wanted to say, I was very intrigued, and the video was great to watch from start to finish. When you go back to this property, to lay more gravel, I would love to see a follow up video of that as well, to see the driveway progression. Our driveway here is asphalt, but it has all kinds of dips in it and potholes. My brother patched 4 main holes, and at the end of our driveway, is this huge dip that I got stuck in during the bit of snow we had gotten a few weeks ago. Anyway, great video and I hope to see a follow up of this particular property. Thanks.

Just saw your "Installing a new driveway" YT and this one. Thanks for sharing. I wondered if what I watched was largely a one-man show, other than when others could be seen? As a homeowner from suburban NJ & MD, your work seemed professional and awesome. You made it seem like so much fun! And, yes, your videographer work is also quite good, and the drone adds a very nice touch at the endings. Though I'm very happily retired, and never worked in construction, your two YTs made me wonder if I might enjoy getting some expert equipment tutelage, and return to work while having fun. Though never assigned as an Army truck driver or in the motor pool, I've driven all vehicles from jeep up to a 2 1/2 ton truck with a trailer. I'd really enjoy getting a job done properly while using a bobcat and backhoe as you did. Hmmmmmm!
