Gotta be honest with you mate; I was absolutely beaming when I saw you had included Robert Crory's try vs Swansea. I never expected a clip from IMART to make it into an Andrew Forde compilation, and I can say this with a certain bit of pride as I was there, the captain of the host team and two-time mixed ability rugby world champions, the Sunday's Well Rebels. Thank you for including that moment, it was one of the greatest of the week.

I reckon the best try of the lot is that 10 from Chile. Those conditions was atrocious, and the way he stepped and moved through the USA was simply awesome. There’s some other great tries in there, but that one, is one that stood out for me all year. Would love to see how the top teams go in a torrent like that. Good on you for at least putting in the video.

Great video!! This year was so good that a lot of tries didn't go in. Antoine Dupont vs La Rochelle - Top14 barrages Kylan Hamdaoui vs Toulouse - Top14 matchday 20 (great laumape run) Tomás Appleton vs Italy - july internationals Julian Dumora vs Toulouse - Top14 semi finals Edit: there is also a try but I don't remember who scored it. It was in the Top14 and it was a hooker that completly torched Garbisi with an unbelievable sidestep Edit 2: Found it! It's Maxime Lamothe vs Montpellier on matchday 23

I saw a reaction to your video. That's what i wrote. Il was really surprised. "Great tries, yes. Best tries ? No. Does the movie maker only speak english ? French players won against the best teams in the World during the last 2 years. France won the Six Nations rugby tournament (best teams of North) with no defeat, in 2022. French clubs dominated the European competitions in 2022. And there is quite no action of French players in this video. You find a try of Australians against French, but Australians lost this match and the last try (a French one) was really magical."

As an American looking at this, I don't know why you Brits (and Commonwealth people) persist in calling them "tries" (or even why you originally called them "tries") when they've clearly succeeded in scoring points for their team. It just sounds weird to our ears. You should call them "succeeds". ...You should only call them "tries" when, as he is running for a goal, then gets clobbered and taken down right before making it. ("Well, Bob, at least it was a very good try!") How about calling them "touchdowns"? ....That's what we call them in American gridiron football, and our football players aren't even required to touch the ball to the ground anymore. Considering that only the Rugby codes still require you to touch the ball down to the ground to establish a win, why don't you just call them "touchdowns"? And about this "in touch" talk; ...that sounds awfully touchy-feely. And, clearly the problem is not that it is "in" but rather that the ball is OUT of the field of play. ...I know, how about "out-of-bounds"? That sounds much better!

It's called a try because originally when rugby was first played, the method of scoring was only through the kick that immediately followed scoring a try. Therefore, a 'try' gave you an attempt to try and score points.
