This song brought me to my knees and tears everytime she chanted jesus name ..all i can say is i was a bad sinner i guess..standing in a circle amongest gang leaders spreading our gospel of destruction my older brother being one of the feared heavyweights i followed him. heavy metal music was our klckback it was our religion.this song and another song made me read about jesus as i really didn't know much bout him..but the more iknow the more i learnt bout him the more im smiling lol..and making amends with people ive hurt in the pass..wats odd is my brother likes this song now..his dark world was mine too..we both are not perfect but we are trying .i never thought we d even get this far .some would say we monsters of wrecklless violence that cannot be saved .but i klnow a change is happening in me and im out now to share this with my brother who is actually into it lol.if only our mum was alive to see this.

Cooper (Warning: Also long) I have dealt with the same thing my whole life. Artistic people are often deeply misunderstood. It is very hard being an emotional and sensitive guy living with a father who doesn't get you, and doesn't know how to give you the love that you need. My parents claimed to love God but were abusive and cruel to me and my younger sister, while they gave my youngest siblings everything they ever wanted. We pretended to be a perfect family at church to look like all the other perfect families, but at home was something totally different. I was bullied and called all kinds of names in high school and always got called "homo" and "fag", even by kids we went to church with, for hanging out with girls because I found other guys to be too intimidating to try to make friends with (probably because of my abusive father). I quickly spiraled into a deep depression that lasted from my teens into my late 20s. Despite my many musical accomplishments in my teens and 20s my family always told me that I wasn't talented enough to do anything meaningful in music, and that my dad was so much more talented and if he couldn't make it what made me think that I could, and that I would always be a hobby musician. Despite having high grades in honors classes, I dropped out of school because I thought I was too dumb and useless to bother continuing. I felt like I was stumbling around in the dark for almost 15 years until I finally told God that I couldn't do it anymore and that if something didn't change I was going to end it all. Later that week I met a guy who invited me to church with him, which pulled me away from my parent's oppressive and legalistic church. It was there that I met my wife and one of the elders, who was a licensed counselor. I spent several years in counseling with him, and he told me that knowing who you are is nothing more than knowing whose you are. He helped me to break free from the emotional bondage that my parents had put me under, and he told me that I could either spend my life trying to live up to my father's expectations and always fail, or I could spend my life trying to live up to my Father's expectations and flourish in His provision. God's vision always comes with His provision. Your father can never give you your Father's vision for your life - that is something you must discover for yourself. Get in the Word, get on your face before God, and ask Him to give you the love that you need. He will never fail you. Your earthly father will. All earthly fathers do in one way or another. Also, I would strongly recommend that you find a counselor or a Godly man other than your father that you can confide in. "As iron sharpens iron, so a friend sharpens a friend." I am now in my 30s, my wife and I have been married for 10 years, and we have a beautiful 3-year old miracle boy (she was told she would never be able to carry a child to term and have it live). I have played with some huge names both in christian and secular music, and I now am a worship leader at the same church my friend invited me to all those years ago. Please don't give up young man. I know it is hard to hear those things from your father, but remember that he loves you and he is concerned for you, even if he is not good at expressing it. Being a father is so hard and can be very frustrating, especially when you can't seem to relate to your child. Try to give him grace, and go to your Heavenly Father for the love you are seeking. It will get better. Sorry this is long but I hope it helps.

Cooper on my opinion it doesn't matter wether a worship leader has an angelic voice or just an average one.. you have to know god and make other people encounter him.. your music has to be honest and sincere.. only that matters in worship.. so start trusting in lord because if he wants you to be a worship leader you surely will be one! Just start working on your relationship with god. I think that if your relationship with god gets better your relationship with other will get also better automatically. So get up and don't be bound to the things others say about you. Because god made you the way you are and you are perfect that way! You don't have to be like others want you to be. You have to be like how god wants you to be! So don't be discouraged!! Just praise god with your whole heart ❤️

Cooper, Take this issue straight to the Lord! Don't allow the enemy to shut you down, to silence your voice, whether through prayer or worship! Literally begin and end everyday in worship, sing everywhere you go! That praise will fill you with a powerful faith that will rise up within you to conquer the bullies and defeat the attacks of the enemy against you!! What does your Father in Heaven say about you? He says you were made in His image... I'm sure it's difficult that your earthly father says hurtful words, and in his mind, he may be thinking if he says this, it might cause you to 'snap out of it'. However, it only causes pain and rejection. Tell him that his words are disheartening, and you're really trying to seek the Lord to heal the brokenness and self perceived flaws. Rise higher Cooper! You are a child of the Most High God, you are not an orphan, you are loved, and have a true calling on your life. If you didn't, the enemy wouldn't be trying so hard to hold you down. Reach out to your sister, and ask her to pray over you. Ask her to join you in declaring your future as a worship leader. Remember, God made you unique, not to fill shoes of someone else, but rather to be YOU, and all that He created YOU to be! Don't fall into the trap that you have to be as good as someone else, or follow their rythmn, style or ability. God gave you your own gifts. Who's to say you wont be better than others? You're 15, you have so much growth ahead of you, and God can turn things around for you as you grow. Let Him. Trust His plan for your life. You don't have to have it all figured out. Ask the Lord to put into your heart His dreams for you, and ask Him to remove anything that is not of Him for your life. Keep praying that... You'll be amazed at what happens! A caterpillar turns into a beautiful butterfly at the exact right time... it can't turn into a bird, it doesn't have that ability. It was never designed to be a bird. If the caterpillar tries to compare itself to a bird, it will inhibit itself to be a butterfly. Be your OWN butterfly, and don't try to be a bird. Fly Cooper! Soar high and let God take you by the wings and guide you. Worship Him morning, noon and night, until you get it embedded deep in your soul WHO you are, and WHO you belong to! Don't allow anyone to steal your joy or to push you around. Stand tall and know that Jesus is standing next to you!! I'll be praying for you too.
