ironically drummers are notorious for doing exactly this sort of thing. "ok now i'm going to play a 5:6:7 poly-rhythm. you might notice that this bleeds over the bar line in our 27:16 time signature but i'm going to hit a crash on every 1 beat so that we don't get lost"

The third sound of the intro gives me that feeling that modular does a lot, where you get the sense you're hearing the actual "voice" of the machine, like what it would be if you weren't listening. Why does it have to be 700🤧

@FatherSaccharine
@FatherSaccharine 4 жыл бұрын
@@Vincent-jv1pp Sort of, it gives you one sub, but not two per voice, and then you'd need more Maths to divide the clocks... It's sort of like a bunch of Maths all crammed together. I would pay to just have that sequencer on its own, as long as it could do audio rate.

I don’t know why everyone says there are 6 oscillators. The sub oscillators are not independent, it’s “just” a multiplier followed by a divider circuit, the oscillator input is one. This doesn’t mean the value and sound of this unit is divided too ;) but it’s not a 6 oscillators unit.

I love how you casually drop pretty deep music theory concepts in your videos... Projecting the energy of *If I can do this, so can you* which i guess is true on a very fundamental level..(In practice: if only!)! Particularly, here, the *fun fact* of the first few harmonics being intrinsically "natural" and major while the first few subharmonics are "unnatural" and minor... mind-boggling stuff and very inspirattional! When you *know stuff* and want to share that with other people, there's often a fine line (that I sadly keep crossing) where you talk too much. You never do that! Cheers, bro.
Fun times with the new Moog Mavis!
