When you buy datapads, you only get coords from allies of that faction. So you need to buy from different factions to finally discover some from each.

Ore is usually about 5 k away from a station, unless there are rocks. There is sometimes money in the beds. If you buy bottles from the stations they come empthy, so o2 gen is a good investment, only needs to be small block. The level of drill increases the rock size you knock off. Acc contracts do not expire I think so it is ok to take them if they look good and finish them laiter. Flying without dampeners is cheaper on hydro, takes a litle learning. you do not take damage if you crash in a buble.
@Noruzenchi862 жыл бұрын
o2 generation isn't needed since you can just buy hydrogen/oxygen from the store.

Very nice vid! You did pick a difficult way to play this kind of strategy by starting out on earthlike planet how ever. This type of gameplay is very easy to pull off if you start out on the moon Titan. Lower gravity means less fuel spend, open spaces means easy spotting of ores and rocks and the moon is so small that often you spawn within beacon range of 3 or so stations immediately. That said, this start definitely has a better view and perhaps more interesting challenge to it.
@AndrewmanGaming2 жыл бұрын
I didnt think we would have so much trouble finding ores! But things should be easier next episode. If we cant find stuff at our new place, we can always go back to where we spotted ores at the other one.

when buying datapads from a station, only that faction's allies station locations will be sold to the player, hence why you're only getting those 3 factions

Yeah, that's what I've noticed as well. That area is oddly barren of any ground ores, yet as we flew out of the area, we noticed tons of ore spots just outside the area. They must have limited ores around stations for balance or something.

Ore deposit colours are different depending on the biome type you are in. In areas with dark green grass, the patches are blotches of black spots but in areas with the light brown grass, the patches are white spots. Also, if you see an acquisition contract that you know you will be able to do at some point, just accept it as there is no time limit for completing them.

It's such a shame that SE never progressed into being a fully fleshed out gaming experience. It had so much amazing potential with the core systems and game mechanics they created. It's still fun to jump into it now and then just to mess around and see what kind of new ship or base design you can come up with. But it's sad that there isn't really any point to keep playing once you've built your great new design other than an artificial narrative or concept that you've created in your own mind.

Not sure if it is even functional, but this would be a neet idea for a Server or something where traditional progression is fully locked behind the economy system. The prices of items would need to be balanced though and a few block additions could add functions such as property claim, sub properties, rent charges, etc. Stations would use materials players brought in to produce components to be sold back to players to construct ships, rovers, etc. Another idea that came in my mind is upgradable bases via holograms of templates pre-made. Paid for by credits before you could construct the building.

i wish more servers had this type of concept...forcing immersion and actual difficulty in game-play. I do this myself when I'm playing a lot of times, where i can only build my own small vehicle, but only do contracts and buy bigger ships and vehicles which i am allowed to modify in my garage. ive had a concept like this where a faction could be in charge of blueprints, licenses, etc of what different factions/players can actually play. it doable..but a lot of work would be required for a server admin to force on all players. And a lot of players just want to basically play like creative mode style, huge inventories, easy builds, massive amounts of weapons upgrades that are way OPd, etc

Funny, I just did a playthrough like this. I created a new station on the moon that had rentable rooms. I'd pay rent in order to get energy, heal and order food. The worst part was having to buy food, since I could not build blocks to produce it. I did the search contracts until I could afford a small survival ship and started building from that. If anyone's interested in vanilla economy only where the only thing you mine is ice, distant moons, Europa drop pod is the perfect start because you can grind down nonessentials and put a second hydrogen thruster on your drop pod as well as a remote control and a gyroscope allowing you to get to all the stations which are much nearer by than on any other planet. Actually manages to make it viable.

@cmqptkloacjko2 жыл бұрын
I sort of tried a similar thing on Titan but doesn’t really count because I started with a Drop Pod. I didn’t feel like mining so I just converted the drop pod into a floating brick and went to the station on the data pad. After that I did a lot of search contracts and at some point I decided to settle down, build a fast jet and take on even more contracts. Now I snipe down Reavers from the sky and try to sell their parts. Mostly iron from the… wreckage scrap

I would love to see a community server of this concept. Something like the demon black company anime and shipbreaker. Like the admins are the higher-ups and they have access to the refineries and all the machines. Where the workers (community members and/or subscribers) can only mine, gather ore, sell, build vehicles, rent lodgings, build houses, etc. And if the workers built their own refinery and they get caught. They could go to prison for having unlicensed refinery. And to keep the admins from doing whatever they want they have to get warrants. That way they can't just pop right into a player's base.

do the sellers actually sell shis or just ship components? this is an interesting mechanic. it would defiantly make vanilla economy ship building very interesting. immagine buying a ship chassis and individual modles you slap on it. like 3 levels of ship command model- cockpit block, 2 seater cabin, 3 seat civilian bridge, 5 seat combat bridge with heavy armor. armos vs primary and alternate thruster systems. refinery, production, or combat mission modules. infact... I change the loot box of wolves and also their spawn frequency to give me what I want eg battery components. The trade off is you have to pick up more ammo magazines from the trading station armories. Ideally you wanted the station that provides components, but that is down to RNG. If there is a way to spam the type of trading station that spawns I'd like to hear it.
