I just ordered a 6.5 black nickel over brass snare and satin natural maple 22"x14" bass drum from Bill himself. I'm in Australia and we had some issues with phone calls and credit card not happening but Bill was as I called him an absolute 'champion' of a person and went the extra mile so I could have one his snares and then ordered a bass drum. I can't wait to get them and hear that sound. Thanks again Bill, James.

These are the most beautiful drums I've ever seen. They sound amazing as well. It's awesome seeing how they get made! Great video :)

My drum instructor invented the drum scoop with ludwig to replace the North drums and they also put them on the snares. now they are using Ludwig again and already have two championships with them. Great drum company!

“Plum Crazy” purple! Always.😉 Great drums hands down! I love how they don’t use wrap. In my 35+ years of playing I’ve never liked wrap. Wood is such a beautiful medium and to cover it in plastic has always been a head scratcher.

Sounds and looks like an amazingly wonderful place to work. When he pulled out that black Galaxy shell it reminded me of my 1994 black Galaxy acrylite 5.5 X 14 snare drum. I live and was born and raised here in San Diego California and worked for Taylor guitars for many years in the spray booth. Always wanted to transfer to Drum Workshop up north. Let's just say I'm glad I went on tour instead. And of course I took my Ludwig kit with me. 🥁

Are they the original Ludwig drum company with a name change? Ludwig was an aspirational brand back in the day, it was what the pros played. Cool stuff...great seeing your drummer friends along 🙂
@marcellovena
@marcellovena 2 жыл бұрын
Ludwig drums are not the real Ludwig drums, Selmer purchased the name. If you want real Ludwigs then you purchase these WFLIII
@traviswoodall6547
@traviswoodall6547 2 жыл бұрын
@@marcellovena you don’t really believe that do you? They don’t even make their shells. Ludwig drum company makes their shells. These are grossly overpriced drums that they buy, double the cost to you, and assemble. They don’t make them. It’s insulting that these are even loosely associated with Ludwig Drums. You can get a kit of the same quality for less than half the price.
@marcellovena
@marcellovena 2 жыл бұрын
@@traviswoodall6547 you are obviously delirious. LUDWIG drums of today are not made from anyone from the actually Ludwig family anymore. They are totally different drums that were what we all loved and what made them popular in the pro would is what the Ludwig family built. They are gone. The last remaining Ludwig alive still making drums is William Ludwig III owner of WFLIII DRUMS, do your research.
@jareddoran6605

WFLIII is to Ludwig what G&L is to Fender. Yes, the company Ludwig is still around, but it's a corporate shell of what it used to be, and the Ludwig family hasn't been a part of it for decades. WFLIII is Bill 3's re-entry into the drum building world, bringing back the authenticity and legacy his grandpa started over a century ago. WFLIII and Ludwig are separate companies, but WFLIII is the closest we have today of what Ludwig was 50+ years ago

Why did WFL III stop doing the 3ply shells (Maple/Popular/Maple) with the reinforced rings?
@krusher74
@krusher74 Жыл бұрын
Because its all bullshit, if in a blind test anyone could tell the differaance between that and what they do now i'd be amazed. Drums companies try to spin what each wood does but a lot of the dessisons are really about whats avalable at what price and how easy it works with the manufacturing. For example who makes drums with beech shells. only sonor, where is beech natve, germany.

I just bought a pearl bop kit all laquer paint. It called amburst! I,m convinced about painted shells! Wrap is crap! Stiffer product glued down is much better but still goes to poop after twenty or thirty years!
