Just jam the AK hand on the turn man. You still beat AQ
@mjriemen4 жыл бұрын
I agree, AK beats almost everything on the turn. Jamming lets you get all the money in as a big favorite and not have to second guess calling off the river if the opponent shoves. But when you show up to play 150BB $5/10 and are now playing 200+BB $10/20 I can see how you might want to be more cautious.
@adamo365324 жыл бұрын
I wonder how much he had left and how much his opponents did. If they both had like 3k left then it's trickier
@mjriemen4 жыл бұрын
By looking at the size of the pot and taking into consideration how much our hero cashed out, I think he should have around $1500+ behind. Thats a lot at $5/10, and I dont know how great I’d feel about getting in 150BB with one pair, but since theyre playing $5/10/20 its still a big bet, but its not outrageous.

Gotta say, I'm pretty impressed, particularly w/ the hand at 20:00 (quad 3's.) I REALLY LIKE your turn-lead-bet, and you made it the PERFECT size, because that bet REALLY LOOKS like a blocker-bet. Hence, the opponent will most likely put you on a middling pair, or mayyybe a flush-draw. It's a very misleading line, as 90% of the time, when (the non-aggressor) has a strong hand, they ALWAYS check to disguise their strength. The ONE thing I'd critique is this: the last hand, (o/s AK) I can almost GUARANTEE that if you were playing a lower-stakes game, you would go-for 2 streets of value in that spot. B'cuz, in my view, your hand is, basically, bottom two pair. Or an over-pair. You'll be getting called by a LOT of suited AQ's in that spot, & some small % of flush-draws. Don't get me wrong, you've got more heart/guts than me, I've shut-down probably (literally) 100X more-times than you, when a pot got too bloated for me to handle, but I'm just being honest in my analysis. That's one thing a poker-player needs, which is seldom discussed or acknowledged, the ability to think clearly when your adrenaline is SPIKING and your heart-beat is 200BPM. So many times in my life I've told myself, "Pots big enough already" and I'll check hands I KNOW I should be getting a little-more value from.

Does it mean I am getting better if it's becoming easier and easier to narrow down ranges on hands I play (which is not often) and on yours and other vloggers hand reviews? Lol..I hope so man, only been playing 20 years, but just in the last few years realized i sucked and then I actually started getting better. haha..On that AK hand, he almost for sure had AQ, doubt he had A10 and maybe KK's or QQ's.? But Most likely AQ, which you knew and could have gotten another $500-$800 perhaps, perhaps, perhaps. LOL!! Just messin, at that pot size, I am checking ALL day as well! Another good one Mr. Neeme! :)

Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family. Can a very amateur sports gambler make a suggestion? I see a line posted for Saturday’s Wisconsin vs Minnesota game at plus 160 that Jonathon Taylor will score 2 or more TDS. To me those are very favorable odds, I think if they play the game 100 times he scores 2 or more TDS 50 times. Getting plus 160 on a coin flip sounds favorable to me. Full disclosure I’m a Badger season ticket holder so maybe I’m letting me heart influence my head.

Somewhat surprised that you deem it kamakaze to call a river bet with AK on A778x board. With card removal accounting for so many combos you would be worried about (A7s,87s) do you not have to call a river bet to avoid massively over folding and therefore being exploited by many plyrs at this level? Have never played as high as this but woulda thought you absolutely have to call in those spots vs almost everyone or risk being over bluffed into the poor house as AK is pretty much the second or third best hand you can have here ie you are folding all likely hands except AA when good balanced players are prolly using multiple FDs to 3 barrel with esp when the turn adds equity to so many of them (9T,56,TJ,Ax etc)? Pretty soon I will be sitting with you and finding out for myself. GL
@andrewjohn42224 жыл бұрын
Hi Andrew, on the last hand (AK from blinds) what are effective stacks after the flop bet and call (sorry if i missed it)? It seems to me that the pot is so big that the SPR is probably in the 1/1 range. I think there's plenty of hands you beat that call you in this spot on the turn (worse A's, KQss, KJss, QJss, JTss) in addition to 3 88 combo's and maybe something like 1.5 33 combos. Seems like a clear bet/call spot or even jam the turn, and just gotta shrug your shoulders if a better hand beats you into the pot.
@peterdawson35364 жыл бұрын
Great video. I thought the 77 hand at 14:34 is pretty interesting. With small pocket pairs 22-88, they lack post flop playability/drawing equity. I think this is a clear fold to the raise, being OOP and getting terrible odds (less than 10 to 1). Calling is a leak here to such a big bet. This will be quite controversial but I wouldn't hate an over limp in the CO if you have players behind who like to 3 bet/pounce a lot. If you only did this with small PPs and maybe some suited connectors you have more than enough equity to call a raise. This might appear face up but that range covers a lot of flop textures and allows you to check raise a lot of flops, such as all sets, two pairs and straight and flush draws. You can find a nice balanced CR range. Its interesting that in the next hand you did overlimp with 33 but from EP. I like this play a lot as you can easily call a raise and fold if it goes raise/3bet or even 4 bet. Playing bloated pots with small pocket pairs OOP is a recipe for setting money on fire. I know some people advocate folding some smaller PPs UTG. If you have the right table dynamic I think limping and over limping is slightly superior.

Last hand AK is a bet fold river. Not a big pot for the guy to try and steal considering 3rd player was all-in, and he checked back turn so on river your pretty much only losing to AJ and JJ and it's a horrible spot for him to bluff so bet folding is the play. Checking to induce never works in this spot (not that that's what you were doing). Betting something small and baity to get KK, QQ and any other A's to pay. Someone has to be capable of playing completely off the wall to check this river.
@jonasjarvholm2994 жыл бұрын
Last hand. I agree that you will probably not get 2 streets of value with AK after 6 comes on turn...but maybe one (on the turn). You can have A5s in your 3 bet range, he can have a few flush draws. Pot is so big that I think he will pay one more bet on turn. If he has a worse A you only give him a free card to outdraw you by checking. Maybe deny equity of such a hand by betting? If he had a set you may have to pay him off either way with the pot so big. Checking river seems like the best option. Love to think about spots like this and ever sure if I am right/wrong. Love the vlog, keep them coming!

I live on east coast and been to Borgata plenty of times. You'd have to convince Borgata to let you film for a MUG, but if you ever did I think you guys would easily smash your table record as the Borgata poker room is huge and would be able to accommodate pretty much any amount of people to show up. Rooms are well kept, lots of amenities, good places to eat. If you do go I would check their website on what tournaments they have coming up and go for one of their opens (winter, spring, summer, fall) those are stacked with low/mid level buy-ins with huge guarantee prize pool so good value. Drawback, maybe for you, is those tournaments are usually multiple days so if you guys convince them to do some MUGs and you want to get in a tournament you might be spending a week there.
