I'm always amazed on how one washer can make all the difference. We had a customer in the shop today that had a washer missing and it did about $900 damage to his suspension after it came loose. It was a spacer washer that kept everything tight, without it the suspension was walking back and forth 1/4" until it just tore itself apart. That was such a nice catch tho, I always admire people notice something isn't just 100% right and then just dive into it again and figure it out. Nothing more satisfying than figuring out a mistake and being able to fix it yourself. love it.

It looks so much better when someone else is working under. LOL Glad you were able to find that washer as the whining noise. Your 2002 looks so much better underneath as far as rust than my 2000 Blazer. It is really getting tough working in that rust. I guess the price we pay to keep old faithful & not shell out 40 to 50k. Oh Oh plenty of material for DIY videos. 😉 👍 4 Stay safe, Joe Z

Love the Chevy videos great insight into what I'm looking towards after being blessed with rust free Arizona vehicles. I picked up an 02 Silverado with many similar issues. I have to say this. Nothing wrong with being by the book but that is the first time I've ever even seen or HEARD of someone setting a diff drain plug to torque spec. That's detail there!

🤣 Thanks for the kind words! Paranoia about stripping the threads or losing the plug somewhere down the highway spurs that detail here. Happy for you that yours is rust free, hopefully it amps up the wrenching joy factor a bit to not having rust chunks raining down in your face. Best of luck!

Dedication personified . I only wish I had your patience , but more importantly your dedication to get the job done . Although I appreciate that repair was basically learning as you went along . However your perseverance seems to have paid off in the end . I envy your skills , but not necessarily all the cuts and bruises , you picked up along the way . And unfortunately your thumb needing major surgery didn't help either . Anyway I enjoyed watching you make it through to the end . By the way , life is full of strange noises from the rear end . It's just something you get used to eventually . But watch out for the leaks !!!😉 They could be costly .... Have a good day . And keep them vids a coming .

Thank you very much! Yeah, the leaks… and they’re in a bad spot to keep an eye on/keep topped up as well. Oh well, the fun of an old truck I guess! Will keep them coming, take care!

Your video's are sometimes few and far between BUT always entertaining AND informative! Your graphics remind me a bit of Monty Python's. JB Weld...always works except when it doesn't which seems to be at the worst time/moment.

Thank you! I am honored by the Monty Python animation comparison. Love Terry Gilliam's animation style. And good call on the JB Weld failure rate. As a preview for the next video, there's definitely some of that coming...

Beautiful truck, man. I have the identical truck, but a 2001. I like the front end better than the 2003 and later models.

Your videography is great and this is a nice vid. But as icing on the cake, so to speak, I would replace all 4 shocks on your truck. They look extremely rusty and old. I have my doubts they do much anymore and can make a good bit of difference in ride quality with some new tires. Personally, I love Bilstein shocks but they are expensive lol. Keep up the good work!

i spent so long hammering that fill plug out , i said F it , went to sleep an had a epiphany the next morning . Why dont i do something stupid an add transmission seal (blue devil ) fix . Well it got me 45,000 extra miles without a leak, but now i'm here again an have to replace it . couple of beers an a few curse words it will be out in no time. ' Thx for the video

6 month delay from recording to posting eh? That has to be a KZbin record :) Great video series! Will miss wrenching on cars when electric vehicles become the norm.

Probably should have gone on auto trader and bought a truck from one of the dealers in Texas. However when I was living in Texas I bought a truck in Texas and they got a truck from Nebraska and I bought but I bought it a year later the rocker panel aheadyour panel had a big hole in it after I leaned on it when I when I was at the shop, fuck me???? I knew I should have asked them to get it up on the lift for inspection? Who Knew, I thought I was getting my favorite Truck. : /
